Super 14: Round 6

Recommended Posts

Waratahs +11.5 Crusaders are once again leading the way and they should be win again however you would expect the waratahs to make them fight all the way for it. They are coming off a bye so the players should be refreshed. They have the forwards to match it with the Crusaders, however the question is if they can contain Carter. He has been below his usual best so far, and he is due for a big game. The Crusaders have lost Macdonald which is a blow for their backline as he has been good lately. While the Crusaders are famous for that big blow out win against NSW, all the other games since have been close games. Besides their huge first round win, all the other waratah games have been close affairs Brumbies - Cheetahs over 49 The Cheetahs are at full strength for this game as they rested 7 players for last weeks loss to concentrate on this. They are renowned for playing an expansive type of game, and they will look to throw the ball around, while the brumbies at home are a similar team, who also like to see the ball move through the hands. With both teams not having the best of defences, this should set it up for some points to be scored

Re: Super 14: Round 6 Crusaders/Waratahs

Crusaders are short but I just can’t see the Tahs being competitive. Going to take the halftime margin on the Crusaders at -6.5.

Brumbies/Cheetahs

This is a bit harder to read. The Brumbies look like they will end up lower/middle with the Cheetahs below them. Should be a home win although this and the Reds games would have been targeted by the visitors on their tour. Although yet to convince me totally I think the Brumbies will take this.

Highlanders/Force

This could be a home upset and I’m going to have a little nudge at it. Highlanders desperately unlucky in all four losses to date and coming off a bye may just slip under the radar of the Force. The Force are playing well and have picked up some good results to date but I just fancy an upset.

Blues/Stormers

After last weeks games I’m not going near this game. I can see why the margin at 9.5 will have attractors on both sides of the fence.

Chiefs/Bulls

Its about this stage of the season that the Chiefs frustrationally get their game together and storm up to ladder to finish a respectable 6th. Both sides were terrible last week so another game I will leave alone.

Lions/Reds

Lions lost closely to Force and Sharks at home, both sides I would consider a fair bit stronger than the Reds. Reds come off a good win last week but every tour to SA is hard and I’d have to be on the home side here.
