Recommended Posts

Post in here if you're having a go on the outrights. Some pretty decent specials going around, I may put a few up in the next couple of days. Drivers Championship

Re: Formula 1 Outrights MASSA under 3 wins @ 3.5 Bet365. I see Massa struggling a bit this season. He won 3 races last season (possibly could have won Brazil too but Kimi needed it for title) and had a few things in his favour. Main thing was Kimi making the transition from McLaren and it took him half the season to get used to the Bridgestone tyres. I see Kimi really dominating the team this season, establishing himself early as the No 1 to take the fight to McLaren. I see McLaren being very strong, which is a bit of a surprise to me, but in testing they have been really close to Ferrari. BMW, Renault and Williams have also looked good and at various times expect those teams to mix it with the big 2 more often than last year. When Ferrari are on top, I expect Kimi to really be the man - I don't think we'll see any lights-to-flag victories from Massa like he did last year. When McLaren are on top, I don't really see Massa as having that absolute raw pace to make a strategy get them ahead like we've seen from Kimi. I think Massa to get 1 or 2 victories is quite likely, and this bet should keep us entertained for a while.

Re: Formula 1 Outrights Without Ferrari and McLaren KUBICA E/W (1/5, 1,2,3) @ 6.5 Stan James. This looks really nice to me. This looks like being between 4 guys; Alonso, Rosberg, Heidfeld and Kubica. Let's look at them in turn: Alosno moving back to Renault after a bit of a disaster with McLaren. Should move Renault back up the pack, especially after they gave up developing last years car really early to concentrate on this year. However, it still doesn't look too good. Testing times have been fairly average, and I see them struggling a bit. I think it's in large down to the engine, which is a bit weak, and with the development freeze that hasn't been improved. Remains to be seen if they have rediscovered the incredible starts they had a few years ago as traction control is gone, but I think they're going to need it to keep up with the BMWs! On tight tracks and in wet conditions I expect Alonso to do the business and could even be shooting for wins, but in most places I expect them to be fighting to stay in the top 8. Williams have definately improved based on testing times. There were signs last year that they were getting some serious speed and Rosberg looks like a cracking driver. However, I still think there are going to be issues with consitancy and reliability, and ultimately I see that keeping them behind the BMWs in the standings. That leaves us with the two BMW drivers. Heidfeld comprehensively beat Kubica last year, but I see that being reversed in 2008. Last years car really suited Heidfeld and didn't suit Kubica at all - I felt all season that Kubica was fighting the set up and couldn't find the pace we saw at the end of 2006. However, I think testing so far has shown a big difference. BMW have gone for a radical design which started out problematic, but in the most recent tests they have been finding great speed and balance. Also they've been doing a lot of longer runs which have been keeping them down the timesheets. Kubica seems more settled in the car and I think it's time for him to come to the fore and lead this team. E/W this seems rock solid and I think we got a great chance of the win.

Re: Formula 1 Outrights Think that's it for me - not much to get excited about and I think there will be a lot of good opportunites each race. A few of the driver H2Hs look decent but don't really feel like waiting 8 months for a 1.83 bet unless it was an absolute lock:unsure. In terms of the title, as I've mentioned I see Ferrari and McLaren very close at the moment. My thinking is that possibly McLaren start better, then when we get back to Europe Ferrari start to take over a bit. McLaren look to have better 1 lap pace at the moment, with Ferrari better on longer runs. If Hamilton gets off to a good start, and we can get 4.00 on Kimi before Barcelona, then I'll be hitting it:ok If anyone wants an opinion on a bet, I'd be happy to give it:ok

Re: Formula 1 Outrights I see Red Bull are paying $3.50 for over 1.5 podiums, which looks a pretty strong bet to me. They had one last year and came close on a couple of other occassions. Their car shows a fair bit of pace on some circuits - it's still not the most reliable machine in the world but you'd only be looking for 2 good races, which I feel Webber is quite capable of. Would take it but you'd be waiting a while to see it and I'd rather keep the money around for some more impending events.

Re: Formula 1 Outrights Time to give this a little bump. My bet on Massa has lost but the Kubica one is looking good. Glad I didn't take 4.00 on Kimi, as I could get 6.5 now if I wanted. Not going to bet on the Drivers Championship at this stage, still not sure and would rather wait a couple of races then maybe we'll see Ferrari supporting one driver only. But I do like this bet. Constructors Championship FERRARI @ 1.57 Ladbrokes. This looks really solid to me, with Ferrari 8 points clear with 6 races remaining. I think the Drivers Championship will end up being close, meaning one of the Ferrari drivers to get a couple of wins in the next few races. Hamilton has already stated that he's playing the percentages and that really helps Ferrari for the constructors. Kovaleinen isn't quite on that pace, and too often he's getting behind Kubica and dropping points. The same is happening to Kimi, but I see him putting on a bit of a surge - especially with the next race at Spa where he is awesome. I see the Drivers Championship being close, but I can see Ferrari pulling away in the constructors taking it by 15-20 points.

Since I posted this Kimi has crashed twice in the last 5 laps, rain has fecked up Ferrari twice and Massa has had a pit stop feck up:@:@:@ Now McLaren are 1 point ahead, rain forecast to hit all of the remaining races so it doesn't look go - Ferrari still slight favourites but I think that's quite a bit based on them being very good in Brazil:unsure
