Re: Euro hockey leagues 2/2 Zug - Lions Nearly all teams in the austrian league played yesterday and that have to be taken in consideration thinking about todays match-ups. The home team came out strong winning 3-0 away against top place duelist Kloten Flyers. Being two out of three teams which fight hard for the 2nd spot this was for sure a great result for Zug. Today they will play Lions which is a much weaker team and the will be at home. 13-2-0-1-5 is Zugs stat in their own rink, a place they have only lost twice the last 10 matches, and both losses were against the top two, Bern and Servette. Their form is also in a very positive trend, going 6-1-0 the last 7. Lions on the other hand is not a bad team, but they struggle with incosistency. Form-wise 3-4-0 is nothing to be proud of even if they came out strong beating Servette last match. Playing away is not their strongest skill with 4 wins in the last 10 matches, in total of 6-2-0-2-10 . They were one of the teams which did not play yesterday so players will be fully rested. Still I believe the momentum and the importance for Zug to get all points avaliable is a much heavier issue for their squad. H2h, the recent seasons Zug has taken advantage and has won 6 of the last 7 games between them. Basel - Bern This is bottom vs. top and I am surprised by the odds provided actually. There is 83 points!?! between the two teams and that says the most. Both teams played yesterday, Basel lost as usual, while Bern won 3-2 against 2nd placed Servette. The home team has only one win the last 20 matches and when facing a superb Bern I can`t see them notching a win today. Bern on he other hand seems to keep up their pace, even if leading the series by 16 pts. Many teams tend to keep it safe, but Bern plays as usual. Form-wise, a stat of 5-2-0 the last 7 inclines that. The standout ponit for them this year has been their great away record so far (14-1-0-1-4), which is the reason why they are on top all alone.
