Jonesy Knows
Europe's top players are out to upset the irrepressible world number one Tiger Woods when the Dubai Desert Classic gets underway on Thursday. Woods, 32, is fresh from a stunning eight-shot victory at the PGA Tour's Buick Invitational on Sunday. His presence, among players like Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, and Lee Westwood, has the European Tour event buzzing. (source: BBC Sport website) Woods is going to be very hard to beat as he is aiming to capture his second Dubai title in his fifth appearance in eight years at the Emirates Golf Club. On current form he may win this at a hack canter like he did last week in the Buick. However with most bookmakers paying 1/4 odds for 5 places there is value to be had... Henrik Stenson @11.00 Paddypower Based in Dubai and won this event last season - comes here in form after finishing runner up in Qatar behind Australia's Adam Scott. He should be up there challenging for a top 5 finish come sunday. Johan Edfors @67.00 Paddypower Looks to be recovering the sort of form he had back in 2006 when he won both Scottish and English Opens. He was doing really well last week in Qatar leading into the final round. Hopefully he can get himself into contention and stay there on sunday. :hope
