Hi Hands off :eek Your username: Hands OFF :eek
The wait is over, it’s time for you to win your seat to the most downright fun, poker event in the calendar! The next Virgin Poker Festival descends upon the Aspers Casino in Newcastle on the 12th-13th April 2008! Since the last Virgin Poker Festival we have been inundated with positive feedback for the concept and execution of the event from players and the poker industry alike. You can be a part of what we believe will be the future of live poker – a fun, quirky event with online qualification, massive added value, aimed at low and medium rollers!
There'll be no muddy fields or pouring rain – what we can promise is:
  • £105 two day, deep stacked main event.
  • £5,000 added to main event prize pool.
  • £1,000 worth of Virgin bounties.
  • Two low stake side events with added value.
  • Bad beat jackpot of a flight to Vegas.

How to qualify There are no direct buy-ins for this event, therefore you’ll have to hit the Virgin poker tables from this Monday to win your seat to the event through our festival satellites (priced between €1.65 and €16.50). Visit Virgin Poker now for more info on how to qualify. We already have one qualifier, Dave (IndigoGB) Young who won the last Festival scooping a juicy £6,800, who will be next?

Re: Virgin in Newcastle Virgin have sent out an email today that they've become aware of a black market developing for these seats with people attempting to profiteer by selling them on at above face value. I have no idea who is involved - whether it's PL'rs, members of other forums or members of no forum, but whoever it is, it's pretty despicable and outside the nature of the event. Virgin have made it clear that it will not be accepted and if you try and sell your seat on at above face value, then you risk losing your seat. I'm sure we'll all support that :ok As a result of this, it will now be far harder for you to transfer your seat for this festival - whilst it may still be possible to pass your seat on, who it can go to (other established members of your forum only), and how much you can charge (maximum face value) will be strictly monitored - as well as evidence required of a genuine reason you cannot attend....... This sounds pretty harsh and draconian, but it sounds reasonable and necessary to me if the spirit of the event is to be protected - please support Virgin in this and make sure you do not become involved with black market tickets - either as a buyer or seller!!
