Emma Lavelle Stable Visit

Recommended Posts

Emma Lavelle Stable Visit Emma told us Labelthou runs at the weekend in a grade 2 novice chase. Because she wants very soft conditions to produce her best form, the Cheltenham Festival is not the be all and end all. There is a possibility she might go for the new mares hurdle there instead of the Sun Alliance chase anyway. Chuqicamata is a horse she likes, runs in a novice hurdle at Doncaster and is from the family of Billyvoddan. Ran an encouraging race at Lingfield on debut and thought capable of better. Blaeberry and Otantique she rates as two of her best but both are waiting for firmer ground. The latter did not seem in a good mood, tried to bite me and had a scar above the eye, but does nothing wrong when racing Eastern Legend is unraced but has shown promise at home. (This is a yard where they usually need their first run though). Rio De Jenero she hopes could win a good handicap hurdle at around 3 miles, improved to be a good fifth in a 2m5f competitive hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Two that looked in excellent shape were Folie Dancer, who ran behind County Zen at Sandown; and Regal Quote who could make a nice handicapper. Gandy Dancer surprised her at Fontwell (5th in a reasonable race at 66/1) yesterday having showed little in his work beforehand. Which was a good sign for the horse’s future and the yards wellbeing. It was clear she had a soft spot for Tana River, now almost 12 years old. Second at Sandown at the weekend. The handicapper knows how good he is and vulnerable to an unexposed horse. One I particularly liked was the lightly raced Marcus. 50/1 winner of a Wincanton novice hurdle last year. Built for fences, ran a very promising race behind Minella Tipperary last time. Could be anything. A stable lad told me he is thought best on a soft surface. Another this stable lad was keen on was Daltaban, bred by the Aga Khan, “possibly even Triumph Hurdle classâ€. That looks a bit optimistic to me but who knows, finished strongly to be 2nd in a Folkstone juvenile hurdle, should win a race or two anyway. A couple of others I think might pay their way in handicaps are Talenti, who came from Aiden O’Brien, finished behind Lightning Strike at Sandown recently and; Crack Away Jack, well backed first time for the yard at Newbury. He traveled well for a long way before fading. Make no mistake this is a yard worth following, they usually need a few runs for experience but afterwards the winners keep coming at regular intervals.

Re: Emma Lavelle Stable Visit Cheers Ginge, hope you had a good day Great info shared :ok Labelthou is on my antepost list for Cheltenham (already taken 80.0 & 30.0 for the Sun Alliance). I know it prefers soft so not sure it will get to the festival but worth following this season nonetheless.
