Just outright interests for me until Wednesday unless I get bored in Vegas :lol and feel the urge to get involved in the matches. 2pts ew S.Maguire to win UK Championships 10/1 Stan James (1/2 1,2) Stephen Maguire came right back to form in the Northern Ireland Trophy and fully deserved to win the tournament and he comes into this event as the form man. The dangerous thing for the rest is Maguire knows what it takes to win this title having won it before and he couldn't have picked a better draw with his own hands. Joe Swail 1st up which won't be easy but unlike other events, Swail won't have had a game under his belt this week. Then he'll face Ebdon or McCulloch in the last 16 before a potential match with Stephen Hendry or Mark Allen in the quarter finals. I'll happily back Maguire to come through those in best of 17 encounters and should he do so, from the semis onwards the tournament will be anyone's. Maguire's the form horse here and looks back to his best and 10/1 could represent superb value next Sunday. 1pt ew J.Perry to win UK Championships 66/1 Bet365 (1/4 1,2,3,4) Joe Perry seems to enjoy these longer frame matches and has been to the semis twice in this event in recent seasons. He's already made the quarter finals in the Grand Prix this season and is a scrapper who fights all the way. He will very rarely win frames with centuries but he's a good all round player and if it all clicks into place he could have another run here in Telford. He's bigger prices elsewhere but Bet365 pay out on the semi finalists too which makes us go there. Perry's run to the semi doesn't look too challenging if he can see off Neil Robertson in the 1st round and so we'll take a chance on the Cambridgeshire man.
