Bamse81
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-23/11 Bern-2.5 1.73@Sportingbet Top against bottom. Leaders Bern against Punchbag Basel. I only see one possible outcome and that is Bern thrashing Basel. Huge difference in class and I really think we could be in for a goalfest. Bern has 5 straight wins and in each of these games they've won by 3 goals or more. They are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. Basel has 11 straight losses. I expect Bern to win this game by 4-5 goals at least. Agree but chose the -3 Asian hcp with bet365 @ 1.83. Money back on 3 goal win seems a good deal IMO. Burran
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-23/11 Malmö-1.5 1.75@Ladbrokes Malmö has been a bit shaky so far, but in the last 3-4 rounds they've been playing better. This is a team with a lot of quality players and they shouldn't have any problems getting to the qualification series. Nybro surprised me at the beginning. They played really well and got some good results. Now they have 6 straight losses. Malmö won in last round 8-0 at home to Sundsvall and Nybro lost 7-2 away to Rögle. Two teams in totally different situation and I can easily see Malmö winning this match by 2 goals or more.

Slovan won 1:2 Vienna - Graz 4:2 Salzburg won 4:0 Straubing lost 1:4 Luckily, I kept everything smallish, so no big loss here. My only regret is Straubing - Duseldorf. I misjudged Foxes as an easy opponent for confidence building, but Straubing really hit the rough patch. I suppose the coach is gone after this evening and more troubled waters ahead for the Tigers. Bamse81
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 Short reasoning on various picks in Elitserien. Timrå - LHC The value in the away team is really nice here IMO. They are a pretty lousy away team but have made some nice results of late. They came close to a win away to Luleå (2-2) and then completely crushed Brynäs at home (6-0) with fantastic hockey and Mattias Weinhandl was great in that game, I he has found form it's very important for LHC. Timrå on the other hand hard to read when it comes to form. They managed to bet out-of-form team MODO at home 2-1 in a good hockey game but then lost away to Södertälje. I've chosen to split the stakes between LHC dnb @ 2.40 and LHC +0.5 @ 1.80. The chance that they will manage to get at least a draw here is very good IMO. Timrå u5.5 is also a good bet and I will take that bet @ 1.80 with bet365. I would have expected around 1.71-1.75 actually. Timrå are really strong in defense at home and they have a good goalie in Johan Backlund. At home they have only conceded 19 goals in 10 games. At the same time they have only scored 27 goals and they are the third worst team in this statistic. Linköping haven't been hot in their away games either with 19 goals scored in 10 games and 34 conceded. Remember that 9 of these 34 goals were conceded in just one game against Brynäs at the beginning of the season. Timrå 6-4 unders in the last 10. At home 8-2 in the last 10. LHC 7-3 unders last 10 on the road. Last 10 games they have 7-3 in unders.. DIF-Modo will probably be a low-scoring game too. With MODOs 11/11 latest games ending in unders you can't do anything but go for the under here too. The team has 3 injured players and it won't be easier to score goals with Timander, Wargh and Sundström out of the picture. At the same time they still have good defence and a good goalie in Krizan. DIF 22-23 in goal difference at home which means they neither concede or score very much. Their goalie did really well in the last game against Färjestad and so I hope he's on form today. I would have guessed for 1.66-1.70 for the under 5.5 so 1.76 @ bet365 is quite ok.
Comic Book Guy
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 OK, let's try this: Basingstoke to win (5.75 @ Bet365) Basingstoke is the 9th placed out of 10 teams in the league. Their home form is not respectable at all. They have played 9 matches in Basingstoke and won only 3 of them. But, with a little bit of luck and/or concentration their position would be much different. Their last 3 home matches: 17.11. Hull 3:4 (OT) 10.11. Edinburgh 3:0 4.11. Belfast 5:4 They had a 3:2 lead against Hull and allowed an equalizer in 50th minute of the match. It was an easy job against Edinburgh who really hit the rough patch and is now at the bottom of the league. Belfast is still injury hit, but on its way up. This was really welcoming win for the Bison. Last Bison match was against second placed Coventry last Sunday and they lost it 6:3. But they did have their chances. They had a 2:3 lead after the first period and a draw at the end of second. They were in the match for the 50 minutes and lost everything from minutes 51-56 when they allowed 3 goals. They could have got much more from that match. Newcastle is top away team with 6 wins in 9 matches. After a bit shaky first 5-6 rounds with lots of ups and downs, they have found their form and were even at the top few rounds ago. But last 5 rounds indicate that they are not in the top form any more: 20.11 Nottingham 5:4 L away 18.11. Belfast 3:6 L home 17.11. Coventry 2:6 L home 14.11. Edinburgh 4:2 W home 11.11. Sheffield 4:1 L away So, only one win: against rock bottom Edinburgh. This is how Vipers captain sees last home match: "Whatever we tried - line combinations, tactics - just didn't come off. Before the weekend, everyone was up for it and even pre-game Saturday the guys in the dressing room were all pumped up. Then when we lost the early goal and took the three early penalties, it knocked us off our game and we never really got it back." Newcastle is definitely stronger team and the odds are rightfully high, but Basingstoke always put up a strong resistance and they could surprise Vipers if Newcastle players don't get any early goals and get frustrated. G:G
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 Södertälje SK (+0.5) @ 1.97 Pinnacle Södertälje have won 2/3 of their latest awaymatches, three out of their last five matches overall, there's no doubt that Södertälje have picked up from and started to adjust to playing in Elitserien. Mora also with good form, but I think they will have problems dealing with Södertälje today: It's not usual for Mora to be considered favourites, this is a kind of match they need to win to reach playoffs and Mora's not very good at controlling the matches, they are better when they can play it safe and counterattack. Södertälje's solid defence and great goalkeeping and their improved attacking makes me think they may very well get a point here. Herning dnb @ 1.93 Pinnacle A very interesting match between 3d placed Sönderjyske and 2nd placed Herning, both teams in good form, Sönderjyske 4-0-1 last five, Herning 3-2-0. Sönderjyske's only loss was a home game vs Nordsjaelland, they sometimes surprise negatvie at home, and now when they are up against the leauges best away team Herning, 5-4-0 their awayrecord, I really like this odds. Herning, withouth doubt, have quality and form enough to win this match. A tough task but I think Herning with their more solid way of performing can get away with a close win. Herlev (+0.5) @ 1.71 Bet365 Totempo and Herlev two very even teams imo, I can't see why Totempo should be such strong favourites. Herlev hot a draw away vs Herning last awaymatch, won vs Nordsjaelland then one before that. Totempo have won 2/5 latest, but vs by then totally out of form Frederikshavn and vs Esbjerg, the weakest team in the league. A close match, but I think Herlev will get at least one point. Comic Book Guy
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 In the other UK matches, I really fancy Cardiff against Coventry but the odds at 2.30 are a bit too short for any team in the league at Coventry. Anyway: Cardiff is in top form and played some great hockey last few weeks. Coventry entered some kind of mid-season crisis, but is still dangerous. Comic Book Guy
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 Alleghe to win (2.35 @ Bet365) It still feels awkward betting against Cortina. They have a good team, they have great history (they were untouchable in the sixties), last season was really good for them... but they just can't produce anything this season. They are struggling to win two in a row (they managed it only once, at the beginning of November). They have played 6 away matches so far and won only twice (against not so great Fassa and even worse Asiago). They lost to Bolzano at home two days ago in a match with pale performances from both sides. Some of you might remember that I placed a bet on Cortina month ago saying that it seems that Cortina is back on the track. I lost that bet and it looks like Cortina is not anywhere near the track. Alleghe is eighth, with only one point less than Cortina. They are undefeated in last 3 rounds. Alleghe played 6 home matches and they performed better against top teams. They drew 3 matches (Pontebba, Ritten and Bolzano), lost to Fassa and Milano and won against Asiago. I admit, they are not good at home, but the facts that they have some decent results in last few weeks and that Cortina is not playing even near their best at the moment, make me believe that there is some good value in this bet. With smallish stakes, of course. Oh, and bear in mind that this is a local derby.

Comic Book Guy
Re: Euro Hockey Leagues 22-24/11 Lugano to win (2.10 @ Bet365) Ambri-Piota is not a bad team, but they play as one. They have only 1 win in last 6 matches and it was against Basel. In 12 home matches they won only 4 times. Season start was good but everything else was underachieving. They had great fans at the beginning of the season and they were really boosting players' confidence. As the results got worse, fans stopped showing up (from 5-6000 at the season start to 2-3000 in last couple of rounds). And, as a final touch, tonight's referee is Kurmann who was refereeing 3 of their matches this season and HCAP didn't get even one point in those matches. Lugano was spending money lately. And they did it well. After Anson Carter (3 goals + 2 assists in first 3 matches), they bought David Aebischer who will start tonight (his début). These two great players will definitely add an extra quality to already good team (currently 7th placed). Since Carter's arrival they played 4 matches and lost only to Servette in OT. Servette is a great team and apparently it was a great match in which Lugano was an equal opponent. I definitely see Lugano as better team in this match and the odds are great, so I'm on it.
