Matty Posted November 10, 2007 Share Posted November 10, 2007 11/11/07 CIENCIANO VS ALIANZA LIMA Two giants of Peruvian football go into battle - looking to make up ground on Coronel Bolognesi at the top of the table. Cienciano are in 2nd and Alianza Lima 3rd - both on 26 points and 3 behind the leader with 5 games to play - so all is to play for. My pick today will Cienciano - they have an excellent home record (7-0-1 F25 A5) while Alianza have a respectable away record of (4-4-1 F9 A6). h2h is very competitive in recent years - though Cienciano won the last game in August 2-1 away. Two key factors are that the home team are excellent at their high altitude home ground - and that Alianza played a game only 3 days ago against tough opposition (Universitario Lima winning 3-1 away) - so fatigue should play a factor against the away team. No major missings for either team - but a distinct home advantage and less fatique for a great home team is deciding factor in my selection here.
