mikho
Re: Euro hockey league 12.10.2007 RUSSIAN HOCKEY Traktor Chelyabinsk - CSKA Moscow I understand that CSKA is favorite here but Traktor is a young team with young players that in case of using their advantage of being young (speed, physical readyness) can slightly dominate over CSKA and can manage some good results. So Traktor Chelyabinsk DNB 2.55 @ bet365 is worth a shot here. Metallurg Magnitogorsk - Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod I cant see any other outcome than Mettalurgs win in case if they dont start doing foolish things during the game. -2.5 that is offered from bookies is far too risky for me so i won't bet it. Direct win does 1.22 which is not a value so SKIP. Vityaz Chekhov - Lada Togliatti There will be no fast hockey. Both teams will play "standart" game with wish to score. I don't really think that Lada is in form now - winning @ Khabarovsk 2:3 was really hard for them. @ the other hand Vityaz is really nice team for me so I expect reabilitation and win of Vityaz after home loose against Ulaev. Vityaz direct win 1.86 @ bet365 is enough for me to bet.
Burran
Re: Euro hockey league 12.10.2007 Dreadful night for me overall yesterday. hopefully I can bounceback with help of Allsvenskan. Rögle 1.90@Centrebet Rögle is on fire at the moment. They look really strong, especially at home where they have 4 wins in 4 games. Björklöven is not a bad team but they are just so poor away. They lost at Oskarshamn in last round and Rögle is definately a better opponent. I'm impressed by Rögle so far. Their form is good and they are great at home, while Björlöven look shaky and are very poor away. Should be a homewin. Bofors 1.90@Unibet Hammarby have avoided bancrupcy for now, but will the results on the ice improve? They won the derby match against AIK. A good result for them. I was really surprised with that result. Last round they lost at Leksand 4-0 but it could have been worse if not goalie Karlsson had been at his best. Now they face Bofors who won against Malmö in last round. Really impressive to me. This team is an up and down team but I see value in this price. Bofors has a better team with some really skilled players like the Hult-brothers for example. U never know these days but expect to see an away win here. G:G
Re: Euro hockey league 12.10.2007 Rögle dnb @ 1.57 (Pinnacle) Feel free to call me stupid, but I won't give up hockey... Rögle a very strong hometeam, good form, and imo a lot more solid as ateam than Björklöven, who as usual mix high and low and are poor on the road. This should be a homewin if any logic at all still apply this season. I wont bother with more reasoning, the better at home, dnb over 1.50, enough for me. Rödovre dnb @ 2.13 (Pinnacle) Odense lost last match at home vs Aab, 1-3, they have a thin line up because of many injured players, they miss four players and their 1st goalie, they don't have many if any options in the defence. Rödovre won vs Esbjerg, totally 2-1-1. They haven't impressed very much yet, but they get the points and play a very solid game, very hard to beat. Attacker Riihijärvi, a well known guy for many, have added lots of quality and Rödovre might have a very good season in front of them. They have met once in the leauge this season, Rödovre lost at home 2-4, but they also met in the Cup final, Rödovre won away, 6-2. I have not been right about much so far this season, but I can't stay away when I see a clear value as this odds has imo.

Bamse81
Re: Euro hockey league 12.10.2007 Färjestad - MODO (13/10) The home team have had a good start to the season and are just two points behind leaders HV71 and with one game less played. In the first three home games they have two wins and the loss in OT to Linköping. According to reports FBK didn't play very well in that game but Linköping have been playing well since they won that game. In the last game in Södertälje they managed to win 1-0 against a Södertälje that is on form and are a good home team. In that game they relied alot on the goalie Gustavsson who has a good few games so far and deserves the chance tomorrow aswell even though Riksman joins the squad. Many thought that FBK were an over-estimated team this year but it seems they might be wrong here since FBK is always a team for the top. MODO have had a terrible season so far even though they are the champions and the team looks even better this season. The goalie Krizan has had a very shaky start which has given Zajkowski more chances than usual but none of them have been impressive. Krizan has been playing better and better but is not reaching the quality that we are used to see in the Slovakian goaltender. Looking at the table they are at 6th place and many might think that's an OK start but it really isn't. The way they have lost some of the games has been appaling. In the last game against Frölunda for example they only shot a total of 4 shots in the first two periods and you simply can't win a game playing like that. Frölunda dominated that game. In several games they have also conceded many goals in the early stages of the matches like against Linköping, Mora and Timrå. The matches they have won have been really tight wins. In the game against DIF they barely escaped with the win and the same against Luleå were they let the defensive go and went for an all out attack. The only game so far where the defense has been working flawlessly was to Brynäs (1-0 win away). This game was tactical perfection from MODO but they have not been able to repeat this. In order to start winning they have to get that mental edge and also to fire up guys like Svartvadet, Salomonsson and Sundström. So far they have been to reliant on new guys such as Jonasen and Wernblom. Interesting fact is that Färjestad as usual have good power play and they are so far the best team in this league when it comes to this statistic. The other interesting thing is that MODO have the worst box play. If you put these two facts together it's easy to say that MODO are in for a rough ride tomorrow in Karlstad. Concerning H2H: MODO won 1/3 games at Färjestad last year and this game was interrupted due to a bomb-threat. Burran
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 HV71 1.47@Sportingbet HV71 tops the table with 16 points in 8 games. I think they've been really impressive and they look as an early favourite to win the whole thing. Their homegame has been really good with 3 wins and 1 draw. Södertälje are newcomers but they've done an ok job so far. Away they've had a hard time though. 4 losses and only 5 goals scored in those games. Björn Melin will probably make his first game of the season for HV71. He's a very skilled player but I don't expect any success straight away. Södertälje also has a new player available for this game but I don't know anything about him. HV71 is a better team than Södertälje and at home I don't think they'll have any problems in this game. Bamse81
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 I think you're right about HV71, it is the most probable win this round. Södertälje is in OK form but aren't as good on the road. HV71 in this form should win it even though there's an obvious value in the odds on SSK. I know that they are playin home but still Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 2.0 @ bet365. Good Luck All
Bamse81
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 Some news on Färjestad. Just two days ago the deal with goalie Juuso Riksman was off but yesterday I read that the deal is on again. He may even guard the goal today against MODO eventhough Gustavsson has been great in Färjestad.
Aco1304
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 Odds (around 1,60) for HPK against lately poor Assat, look very generous to me! They are also without a point on the road this season, while HPK is very strong home team, so this looks like a clear home win. Any info about roster problems for HPK? Bamse81
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 Timrå - Frölunda Will try a bet with small stakes and little analysis here since I haven't had great luck with U/O-bets. Let's see how it goes. Timrå play really tight at home and usually win by small margins. In the 4 games at home only one has gone over 5.5 and this was in the strange game against Färjestad ending with both teams scoring 5 goals each. Timrå rely on a tight defensive and a good goalie and let the Finns Hahl and Pärssinen score the winning goals. Frölunda are good at home but not great in away games (like basically all teams in Elitserien this season). They will also try to use the same tactics as Timrå here with a tight defensive for starters since there is no other way to win against a team that is very opportunistic in taking their chances in front of the goal. This game will be very tight IMO and I can't pick a winner. I wouldn't be surprised if the winner is decided after OT. Under 5.5 @ 1.87 Expekt 3/10 (small stakes)
Comic Book Guy
Re: Euro hockey league 12-13.10.2007 Not an easy round in UK. Hull to win (1.74 @ Bet365) This looks like an easy bet to make, but it's far from that. Stingrays are having some good performances lately and Giants are rock-bottom. If it was any other team involved but the Hull, I'd say: maximum stake on home win. I know Hull too well to make such presumptions. Just as one thinks that they have prevailed all rooster problems and corrected mistakes made because of the inexperience, they do something unbelievably dumb and lose the easiest matches. I've paid the price for betting on them when they are favourites many times, but I'll do it again. I'm backing them because of the Belfast lousy form. Hull was hit with unbelievable misfortune in defence. First, they bought Canadian Luini who played only 20 minutes and got injured. He left back to Canada and Stingrays bought another defencman: Jani Virtanen. He suffered broken collarbone in his debut. Plus, several players from defence were injured for a week or two and Stingrays played some matches with only 4 men in defence. But defence injuries weren't the biggest problem. The fact that they don't enter the match with 100% was much more dangerous. They would allow 2 (sometimes even 4) goals in first 15-20 minutes and then start playing. They were addressing that problem very seriously and it seems that they have solved it. Last two weeks, they have been playing from the puck-drop and the results are positive. Stingrays have won 2 in a row and lost only against Manchester. They deserved at lest a point against Phoenix, but Manchester had more luck in the end and won 3:2. They are on the run, they are working as a team, Riddle is on fire, Kudrna is great on goal and things are looking good for Stingrays. Things are not looking good for Belfast. In fact, things could hardly look worse than this: 5 losses in last 6 matches. Their coach has been issuing final warnings to almost all players, but without any result. He gave them last opportunity to prove them self last weekend and they have lost both matches. Now he's given them all two-week notice and there will be some massive changes. Player/coach Courtenay is the only one scoring on regular basis and he's 39 years old. Defence is leaking goals all over and nothing works as it should. Some dark skies are over Giants. These two met a week ago and Hull won 0:2. Everything points to Hull's win, but as I said, it can't be taken with big stakes because of the Hull's usual ways of messing things up. Plus, Giants rooster has some really good names on it and Giants could make this match end with unexpected outcome. Still, the key word is 'could'. They have this 'could' hovering over them all season, but they haven't do anything so far. Why expecting that to change?
