Re: Daily NAPS - Wed 12/09/07 Fairmile 4.55 Doncaster (WIN) Red Gala may be the one they have to beat after winning readily but it has had a lay off for 144 days and is expected to start as favourite despite the step up in class from class 4 to class 2. I'm interested in Fairmile that is pretty consistent at this level. It's form from June 06 to August 06 read 1-2-1-2 and included 2 races at class 2 level on good to firm ground. This has also had a lay off of 188 days but is expected to be about treble the price at around 6-1. Had a lay off from Sept 06 to Jan 07 but came back fresh and won at Nad Al Sheba over the 10f trip in good style and got the following RP analysis from its 99 rating:

Clearly as progressive as any of them, FAIRMILE made a successful debut for new connections with a pretty impressive success. He had a good seven lengths to find at the top of the straight when Hallhoo kicked into a clear lead, but he displayed a smart turn of foot when asked for his effort and always looked like getting there.

Since then ran off 104 and 105 ratings at Nad Al Sheba and finished 3rd on both occasions. I backed this at York in July 06 and was impressed enough to mark it as one to follow. Switched then from Swinburn stable to Godolphin and possible winner today for Kerrin McEvoy who takes the ride. Gets the trip (2 wins and 2 3rds from 4 runs at 1m2f) and likes the ground (1st and 2nd from 3 runs on good to firm) and has every chance of upsetting the Moore/Stoute combination.
