kompressaur
I pressume that they will be U21 games going on to-night in the shadow of the full team's fixtures. Do you think that the results of these games bears much significance on the full-team's chances? Is there any stats that support any trends that may have occured before. Just a thought like. Guest Da Hannanah
... Read today that the Danish U21 team has only won 5 of their last 22 games. I think the grown ups have fared slightly better ;) Btw. - I guess there's a difference between big and small countries here. Due to the size of our nation, we have to bring players through the ranks faster - less consistency in the U21. I read that Barry from Aston V is on his way to a record 20-something U21 caps. To have players like him and Cole and Carrick in the U21 is a huge difference.
Guest Tonyvdb
Re: The influence of U21 results. nah, don't think these games have any consequences for the national A-team (Senior national team, not the A-team with B.A. and Murdock and so :b ) Off course U21 France - U21 Andorra will still be a big France-win but otherwise ... no don't think so. Guest Grandmaster Suck
Re: The influence of U21 results. Might have some effect on smaller nations - depends how they are organised - as it might produce a feel good factor. But in general there is little connection between the U21 and U19 set ups and the full national side on terms of personnel. Seem most of Scotland's home fixtures at both levels the last couple of seasons. Northern Ireland U21 team looks pretty good. Scotland U21s won 2-0 ttonight - Kevin Kyle and Simon Lynch scored. They play Ghana in a friendly on Monday night in Dumfires.
