Re: Newmarket 18/8 3.00 Newmarket 17 line up for this Class 4 handicap over the straight 6f. Pic Up Sticks is the clear fav, but badly out of form, its price is based on ability rather than current form so I'm opposing with: Comptons Eleven (9/1 Bet365) - Top weight today for Mick Channons charge but has solid credentials here. Has needed help from handicapper and is slowly getting in and, along with the drop in grade & trip, things should be coming right for this horse. Is also reunited with Ted Durcan for the first time this season, this jockey being responsible for 3 of its 5 career wins. Never won in a grade higher than todays, so the fact it is dropped to Class 4 is a pointer. Generally goes well at this time of year, and has its favoured ground today. Campaigned at 7f mostly these days, but has interestingly never won over that distance so return to 6f may help. Poorly drawn lto so ignore that run but previously 2nd, 4th and 3rd in better races than todays and off higher marks. Big chance today.
