5.15 - CALZAGHE - Backed this one LTO at SANDOWN and although it had no chance with the first 2 home , it was staying on over the 14f trip . Tomorrow's extended 14f will hopefully suit and with W BUICK on board taking 3lb of it's back i think it has a good chance of winning. Only the FAV , BOLLIN FELIX , has been tried over a similar distance but has shot up in the weights and hasn't ran for 39 days. Around 6/1 appeals :ok

Re: Doncaster 17/8 3.40 Doncaster Big field of 20 for this Class 3, 5f140yd handicap over the straight course. Open race, so I'm plumping for: Gift Horse (RPF 10/1) - One of 2 Dandy Nicholls' runner in this race, with this being the most fancied with Jamie Spencer taking the ride. The only C&D winner in the race, and is 1 from 1 at the track. Has the headgear on today, which could do the trick for this formerly top class animal, having raced exclusively in group company last term. Is now dropped 2lb from last run, and down to Class 3 company so everything set for a big run. On a winning mark, back on better ground and racing at right trip. Spencer is the ideal jockey for this come-from-behind type. Form this term has been patchy but has excuses - wrong trip, wrong ground, class of race. Really fancy this to go well today.
