Is there any way of back testing this?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking at a system over the last month which you could call "horses for courses" I suppose and it has produced the following: Runners 34 Winners 12 Strike Rate 35.3%

Total Staked£340.00
Total Won£519.60
Total Profit£179.60
ROI152.82%
A full list of results is available. The rules are as follows:
  • Horse must have two ticks under "course" on the postdata RP stats
  • Must have won 40% of races at track both overall and under race conditions
  • Number of wins at track must be at least 30% of total career wins

I am also looking at whether the type of track is a factor but do not have enough information to come to any meaningful conclusions. I wondered if there was any way of backtesting this?

Re: Is there any way of back testing this? As you need the RP Postdata stats , i tinhk unless you can get your hands on backcopies there ain't no way you could backtest it mate. Why not try paper-test it for a few weeks and see what happens. If you selections have the three criteria you state, then then surely looking for which type of Course it is does'nt matter , as i would imagine whichever track it's running at obviously suits it . GOOD LUCK :hope
