If you stand behind the stalls number 1 is to the left, this makes a difference if the track is left or right handed. For example todays racing at Beverley & Lingfield. Beverley is right handed so stall 1 is on the stands side. Lingfield is left handed so stall 1 is on the far side & the highest stall on the stands side. The other thing to note is the position of the stalls. If it says stalls low then stall 1 is against the rail. If it says stalls high the highest stall is next to the rail.
