York 18/05

Tips in here:ok NAKHEEL / MACORVILLE 2.15 York 2 picks here in this 1m4f handicap at York. 17 go to post, but I feel it can be readily narrowed down to a handful of runners. Draw is still a factor over this distance, and although not ideally berthed, stalls 8 and 11 should not inconvenience these 2 animals. The other key factor for me is you need a horse that eithers leads or races up with the pace, and again these 2 fit the bill perfectly. This race is generally won by a fancied horse, and the fact they are both single figure odds is a plus. Nakheel is expected to lead, and looks to be heading in the right direction after a lengthy lay off but must overcome a 2lb rise in the weights. Macorville on the other hand is down 1lb after 2 poor efforts this term but needs cut in the ground to be seen at its best, as judged on its 3 successive wins at the backend of last term. Now races off its last winning mark and has McEvoy in the plate. EW bets advised on both

Re: York 18/05 Horse Name: Sergeant Cecil (Hot Horse) Racecourse: York Time: 2.45 Sergeant Cecil’s only defeat in four outings on the Knavesmire came when runner-up to today's rival Percussionist in last year’s renewal. This seems to be his minimum trip in fact he's not run this trip since that defeat last year, but he is taken to defy top weight on his 2nd run this year. His 4th LTO behind the very smart 'Maraahel' will see him strip fitter for this and a bold bid is expected for this popular horse. Horse Name: Promising Lead Racecourse: York Time: 3.15 Won a very hot maiden at Newbury over 7f LTO. No less than 3 horses including today's rival 'Graduation' have gone on to win since which makes the form very solid. Should improve for that maiden run and very hard to oppose Horse Name: Sea Rover Racecourse: York Time: 4.05 Easily won a maiden at Thirsk on his debut last month turning over 'Falcon’s Fire' by 6ls who franked the form when winning next time out at Catterick. Although its bred for a mile its interesting its contesting 5f for the first time after finding no extra LTO when 2nd over 6f behind 'Multitude'.And today we see it running off the same mark.
