ReasoningThe field is weak, and Padraig Harrington is class. He finished in the top 10 at the Masters and was leading at -6 after the first round of Wachovia. He should blitz this field. However, there's more to it. Not only is he the best player in the field on home soil, but he loves this course. Two years ago at the JP McManus Pro-Am he hit -14 for his two rounds pummelling the field. However, to put it into context, both Tiger Woods and Ernie Els only hit -3. He should really run away with this and I dont see why he wont. GL

ReasoningWhat Markus Brier lacks in course form, he makes up for in form. His last 3 outings have led to a win, a T5 and a 2nd where he lost in a playoff. Last week he took a well earned break but he's back this week and hopefully nothing will have changed. While he didnt fare well at last years Irish Open, this is a different course and hopefully with form under his belt, he should be there or thereabouts in a week field come the business end of the tournament. ReasoningThe Swede is currently on the form of his career. In his last 3 tournaments he has not hit a round over 71 and has not come lower than T6. Last week he played brilliantly over the weekend keeping the pressure on Westwood hitting 64-66 and this should not be sniffed at even in nice conditions. I feel the bookies have underestimated him here in a weak field and there's no reason why he shouldnt have another big finish this week and maybe this can be the week he finally gets his victory. GL

Re: Golf - Irish Open Martin Kaymer ew 50/1 @ Boylesports Kaymer finished fourth on the Challenge Tour last season despite only playing in seven events, two of which he won. He's handled the move up to the big tour pretty well and his last four appearances have been 15, 3, 14, 14, he hits the ball a long way which will be important on a course that clocks in at just under 7500 yards and is 17th in the driving distance stats and 22nd in accuracy. I think it's a matter of time before he gets his first win and in a field that isn't particularly strong it could be this week. Raphael Jacquelin ew 25/1 (general) Jacquelin is clearly in the form of his life at the moment and looks completely comfortable and confident in his game, his last four starts have resulted in finishes of 2, 6, 1, 7 and after a couple of weeks off he should be nice and fresh. Jacquelin has both class and form and in this kind of field should be in the mix come Sunday afternoon. Richard Sterne ew 50/1 @ VCBet In seven events this season Sterne has only once finished outside the top 20, his last three finishes have been 2, 5, 5. The slight concern is that he hasn't played since the BMW Asian Open nearly four weeks ago but hopefully this will mean he's fresh and raring to go. Although he's quite a small chap he still averages nearly 290 off the tee and is in the top 10 in the stats for stroke average, putts per round and sand saves.
