TUESDAY 17th - Lay Of The Day

Recommended Posts

WOODCRAFT 3.30 Warwick...( F/cast 4/1 ) Taking a bit of a chance here, as never run and could prove to be very good. However, although he's expected to be a bit decent in time, I just feel he'll need the run today and that inexperience certainly will not help him against a few that learnt a great deal last season. The trip today of the extended 1 mile should be o.k to start over, but he should find a bit further more suitable once gaining the experience and then progress into that useful horse as expected. Being out of 'Observatory' he should be fine on this good/firm ground, but I just feel that a few will be more experienced and ready to win today and that can make life tough for the opposed runner. Richard Hughes takes the ride, as he would being Khalid Abdullah's horse, and he'll surely not be too hard on this colt being a debut and so you get the impression he's going to have to be going pretty well when the race hots up for him to pick up the whip and start trying hard for that win! So a bit more food for thought there. I may be wrong and he may have too much built in class for his rivals, but I'm willing to take the chance at current odds ( 5.2 Betfair ) with hearing he'll come on quite a bit for the run, and if that's the case and he still wins, then a certain pointer to a horse well worth following for the future. A lay for me for today though and so here's hoping.... Good luck everyone.

Re: TUESDAY 17th - Lay Of The Day Quick : 410 Exeter Second fav behind a stable companion that should have beat it last time out. Also carries a penalty which wont help together with a couple of other likely contenders have every chance, so all in all its merits a lay at round the 7/2 mark. Won only once in 2yrs so twice in a week looks a bit optomistic.
