Far From Trouble has been put down

Recommended Posts

Far From Trouble has been put down due to complications linked to a leg infection suffered last month. The Christy Roche-trained chaser travelled over to Cheltenham with a view to running in the William Hill Trophy at the Festival, but plans had to be scrapped after he picked up the troublesome infection. Winner of last year's Galway Plate, Far From Trouble had been well-fancied for the John Smith's Grand National prior to the injury, having been allotted 10st 10lb in the weights. Confirming the sad news, Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus, said: "The infection proved more serious than we first thought." He told the Racing Post: "He was a good horse and we were looking forward to him competing in good races over the next few years." That was one of my horses to follow as I had heard good things were to come of it.
