Re: Australian Rules Football AFL - Round 2 (Thu 5 Apr - Mon 9 Apr) Hard to find much value this round. St Kilda have beaten Brisbane in ther last 3 clashes by 51, 37 and 139 and should win again. Sydney beat the Tigers both times last season by 48 and 118 points, and they played well enough on the weekend to suggest they can do the same again. Carlton appear to have improved a fair bit, but they will have to if they want to beat the Cats. Geelong have won the last 3 meetings by 65, 70 and 57 points. In each game they kicked in excess of 131 points, while Carlton haven't scored more than 77. Danger game for Fremantle as Essendon have beaten them in 4 of their last 5 games. Lowest margin for each Essendon win was 30 points, so they appear to play pretty well against the Dockers. Hawthorn and Melbourne have taken it in turns in their last 3 games with the Demons holding the 2-1 win record. This game could go either way and the best value could be the way to go here. Interestingly enough the Adelaide Crows have won 6 of the last 8 against the Bulldogs and are at good odds of $2-65. Adelaide had the best defence in the league last year averaging under 70 points a game, although Essendon gave that same defence a hammering last weekend. The Bulldogs last 3 games against Adelaide have posted scores of 105, 55 and 35, and if the Crows can keep Brad Johnson quiet then they are capable of an upset. Kangaroos have beaten Port in 7 of their last 10 meetings, and actually beat Port both times last year. The Kangaroos are at great odds of $4-55 and coming off a game they probably should have won. Their midfield was sensational at times against the Pies, while Port is coming off a trip to Fremantle and a tough game on a very hard ground. May be some value there for the Kangas. Collingwood have beaten West Coast in 3 of their last 4 meetings and the Coasters are coming off a hard slog against the Swans in Sydney. West Coast should win but the Pies at $6 are tremendous odds for a team that has a fairly good record against the Eagles since Malthouse has been coach. West Coast and Port Power are at silly odds considering it was only Round 1. Teams can improve markedly between Round one and Round two. The Eagles and the Power are both coming off long road trips and very tough games, and they are both $1-20 or less. There is great value to be had on their opponents. No such thing as a certainty in AFL football.
