GaF
Hmmm ..... any thoughts? Welcome to Betfred Live Help. One of our operators will be with you shortly. Thank you for your patience.Hammy: hi there, how may I help you? Telepee: Hello - Every time I start my Betfred software then my AntiVirus/spyware software is quarantining files stopping me from getting into the cashier - the files in question are "CasinoOnNet" who I thought were 888.com - is this "normal"?Telepee: The filename is cashier.dllHammy: have you ever had 888 installed?Telepee: YesHammy: they have heavy spyware which conflicts with the betfred softwareHammy: it tricks your antivirus into believing it is coming from betfredHammy: whereas in reality it is still the spyware left over from 888Telepee: OK - so all I can do I presume you are saying is to uninstall 888?Hammy: yes, however, as it is spyware it may not completely delete the casinoonnetHammy: you may need to run some sort of ad/spyware remover after uninstalling 888Telepee: ok - I will try that - thankyouHammy: no worries
slick mick
Re: 888/Pacific Spyware I have both and haven't come across this with Norton, but I don't like the sound of it.
GaF
Re: 888/Pacific Spyware This is the symantec write up on it ....... but I cant quite get my head around how opening Betfred triggers this :unsure http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2006-062612-1530-
avongirl
Re: 888/Pacific Spyware I got the same message when I started BetFred on Friday. I've got Norton and just followed what it told me to do (I remember something about quarantine files). It was running its weekly virus check in the background at the same time and I just assumed it was connected with that. I haven't got 888 and never have though. :unsure Presume if it pops up again I should tell it to delete casinoOnNet then?
gazabroad
Re: 888/Pacific Spyware I used to have 888, but not for about a year. When I run cc cleaner it deletes the Betfred start up. Always wondered why. Am typing this on the spare pc which has Betfred but never had 888. Think I´ll put cc cleaner on and see what happens. (could be a while though as I cant actually see straight right now) :lol
Galronix
Re: 888/Pacific Spyware It's begining to sound like Betfred have the spyware and are blaming it on other software. Norton, in my opinion have the worst AV & AS out there.
