120 Hereford : Shankly Bond (14/1) Taking a bit of a chance here but with the front 3 in the betting having next to no hurdle form between them the race looks set up for an outsider to go well, narrowed it down to Master Somerville, No Complaint and Shankly Bond, going with the latter as it showed tremendous potential on his debut at Chepstow behind some useful horses, didnt stay last time so dropped back in trip on slightly better ground today so could see an improved run.

For the money on offer this seems to be reasonably competitive with a number of in form rivals, albeit at a very modest level. On the book Spy Gun would seem to be up against it against some of his better weighted rivals, however there are a number of factors which will give him the chance to offset the weight issue at rather tempting odds. In terms of his rivals, Bessemer is the best rated horse in the field and well in at the weights, however he has looked a difficult ride at times and may not be one to place your full faith in. Bathwick Emma is in form and holds a victory over Spy Gun by 5L two runs ago, but over a further 2 ½ furlongs, I suspect the drop back to this trip will not be in her favour. Prince of Gold is another who has beaten Spy Gun recently over this trip, however the selection was done no favours when hampered after a furlong and dropped to the rear of the field only to run on inside the final furlong, he also meets that rival on 6lbs better terms. Undoubtedly the one to beat will be Magic Amour, who is very consistent at this level. As for Spy Gun, he once again has the assistance of Chris Catlin, is well drawn in stall four and will have the chance to run from the front which will suit him over this distance. Hopefully he will have enough in reserve to repel the late challenge of Magic Amour at odds of around 20/1.
