Sparta have a good streak going, and at home they are really tough to handle for any team, and I don’t think that Comet is the team to get anything from this. Comet beat Furuset away last round, but that is not a sign of sterngt the way Furuset looks right now, the match before that they lost at home to 9th/10 placed Lillehammer. 1,86 for Sparta looks a bit high considering the difference in form. Battle of titans for sure but we have to look at the form of these teams. First off I think that the Russian league is probably as good as the Swedish. The Russian team are numero uno in their league 7 pts ahead of Omsk. They also have 6 straight wins and good form coming into this tourny. The team is very high scoring and are good both at home and away. In the away games (18 to the number) they have managed 38 pts and scored 66 goals. Färjestad are currently at 2nd place in Elitserien and they should be very very lucky they are because they havent been great of late. They concede too many goals and have a strange way of under-performing against pretty bad oppositions. In the last game for example they got a real lesson at home by Djurgården (the worst away team by far) and lost 2-5. Färjestad have also had trouble with injuries and some of their most important players such as Olausson and Andreas Johansson are still on that list. Form and to some extent statistics speak for a Russian win here and my feeling is that the Russian top team is too much to handle for a Färjestad that has much to prove still.
