Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 Queensland Roar v Perth Glory A League Website review Date: Saturday December 2 Kick-off (local time): 7.00pm Venue: Suncorp Stadium Previous meeting Perth 1 Queensland 2 (Members Equity Stadium, Hyundai A-League round eight, October 2006) Last five results Queensland: Draw - Loss - Loss - Loss - Loss Perth: Draw - Loss - Loss - Win - Win Analysis Queensland Roar's tumbling fall from the higher reaches of the league has been as quick as it has surprising and Frank Farina simply must earn his first points in charge of the club this Saturday against Perth Glory. The Roar were never out of the top two during the opening phase with its second successive win over Perth at Members Equity Stadium in round eight retaining second position on the table behind Melbourne. But Queensland is now second bottom after a disastrous spell of one point from a possible 18 with the Glory leapfrogging Farina's slumping side last weekend for the first time in the campaign. Even the former Socceroos coach's shock recruitment of Damian Mori last week failed to have its intended effect with Mori starved of service after Chad Gibson's first-half dismissal as the Roar slipped to a 3-0 defeat to Sydney FC. Gibson, who had only just won his place in the starting side back after being overlooked by former coach Miron Bleiberg, is now forced to sit out this weekend's do-or-die clash with midfielder Marcus Wedau (hamstring) joining Massimo Murdocca on the sidelines. Farina will look to replace Gibson with either Stuart McLaren or Hyuk-Su Seo in central midfield although both are natural defenders, once again underlining Queensland's lack of depth centrally. Scottish striker Simon Lynch is recalled after thigh strain with Wedau's temporary replacement Chris Grossman also getting the nod. For Perth, coach Ron Smith has a decision to make on whether to continue with makeshift striker Jamie Harnwell in attack after his first-ever hat-trick last weekend against the Knights or recall Bobby Despotovski. Simon Colosimo will, though, return to the line-up after serving a one-match suspension last week with Josip Magdic also promoted to the full squad. Stan Lazaridis, however, is a notable absentee with a hamstring strain and striker Mimi Saric has a virus as Perth starts a run of away games which could shape its destiny. Tough trips to the Central Coast and Sydney follow.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 Roar just had 2 decent shots saved. So far it is unders, but the A-League is very very strong for leading teams to score a late goal. It's happened countless times - Victory last night, Sydney FC last week, Perth Glory last week, Mariners vs NZ 2 weeks ago etc. A goal could change everything but for now unders is in pole position.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 30m Queensland 0 - 0 Perth That 15 minutes was all Queensland and exfept for a brilliant save by Perth's keeper Tomich the Roar would be a goal up. The resulting corner almost ended up in a Queensland goal but Mori tried to turn it in and mucked it up.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 HT: Queensland 0 - 0 Perth Mori and McKay had clear chances in that period but both couldn't find the target. A mistake in the Roar defence at 46m almost cost the home sie a goal but for Laim Reddy's great save. Queensland look much better this week and was hoping for this scoreline at half time and I expect the home team to score in the second half, hopefully two goals.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3

Queensland Roar Vs Perth Glory

BET

Queensland Straight Out to Win @ $2-45 WIN :clap

If any doubt take Draw Saver @ $3-30

Or

Queensland Draw No Bet @ $1-80 WIN :clap

Draw/Queensland HT:FT Double @ $5-50 WIN :clap

Queensland Win 2-0 Correct Scoreline @ $10-00 (Almost)

Damian Mori First Goal Scorer @ $6-00 (Should have been)

Queensland win and so they should have. They should have scored another goal or two too. Got the good priced win and the HT:FT so I am very happy with that result. Almost got the $10 2-0 win but it wasn't to be. Happy to take the win tho as it keeps me alive in quite a few multiple bets and provided good odds. Hope some of you guys got a win too :cheers

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3

Under is a winner :) Congrats to others who also won on this game :clap
Well done Crow :ok I don't generally bet unders and over but I did say in my preview that the figures suggest 0-0 at half time and maybe Queensland can get a goal after half time, and that's how it worked out. So a good result all round.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3

That Hawks game really killed my night. Can't seem to do a single thing right atm. :wall:wall
Yeh me too Oscar. I took the 4 very short NBL teams into Adelaide and with the $2-45 added it came to $4-78 which was quite good odds i thought, but the Dragons won easily in the end. I watched a bit of the last quarter at halftime of Roar game and Woolongong kept turning it over.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 TWO NEW KNIGHTS Saturday, 2 December, 2006 - 3:07PM The NZ Knights announced today that Chinese international Li Yan and Gao Leilei were confirmed clearance late last night by the FFA to play for the A-league side. The announcement of Li Yan and Gao Leilei comes on the back of former England premiership fullback Dean Gordon signing with the club yesterday. Knights Director of Football, Barry Simmonds, said the two signings were a huge boost for the club and would add some potency to their attacking line-up and depth to their current playing roster. Li Yan has played 20 matches for the Chinese national team and previously played for Xi’an Chanba in the Chinese Super League. Simmonds said he has seen Yan play and has since talked to a number of European coaches in China as well as the Chinese national coach about the player. After he has studied several videos and DVDs with Yan in action he approached the player about coming to the Knights. Yan is a midfield-forward and Simmonds hopes the player will add to the Knights attacking options. Gao Leilei also comes from the Chinese Super League where he played for Beijing Guo’an. Leilei impressed when he trialled with the NZ Knights two weeks ago. Following consultation with coaches in China and further video study, Simmonds also offered Leilei the opportunity to come play for the Knights. Gao Leilei is a midfield-utility player. Simmonds is hopeful both players will play when the NZ Knights face the Newcastle Jets at North Harbour Stadium tomorrow. NZ Knights v Newcastle Jets North Harbour Stadium Sunday 03rd December. 5pm Kick Off

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 New Zealand Knights v Newcastle Jets Date: Sunday December 3 Kick-off (local time): 5.00pm Venue: North Harbour Stadium Head-to-head Five league meetings: Newcastle - 4 wins, 1 draw Previous meeting Newcastle 3 New Zealand 0 (EnergyAustralia Stadium, Hyundai A-League round eight, October 2006) Last five results New Zealand: Loss - Win - Loss - Loss - Loss Newcastle: Win - Draw - Win - Loss - Win Analysis Former Knight Ivan Necevski will travel to New Zealand as Newcastle's first-choice goalkeeper after Jets coach Gary van Egmond took the decision to rest Ben Kennedy for the long trip. Although X-rays revealed Kennedy is free of serious injury following his painful clash with Melbourne striker Danny Allsopp last weekend, the 19-year-old 'keeper will remain at home fully recovering from wrist bruising with the AIS's Tando Velaphi stepping into the breach. Necevski made a string of saves to deny Melbourne and push Newcastle firmly into playoff candidacy after a sluggish start with Van Egmond receiving the plaudits for his side's dramatic improvement in form. Once again, his selections paid dividends with recalled forward Milton Rodriguez scoring the winning strike on his return to the starting XI. New Knights coach Barry Simmonds will be casting envious glances at Van Egmond while only dreaming of being able to induce a similarly stark turnaround at the league's bottom-placed side. The tale of absences has been a familiar one at North Harbour Stadium although midfielder Jonas Salley - just back after 10 weeks on the sidelines with ankle trouble - only has himself to blame for his red card last weekend. Salley now misses another game through suspension with teenage defender Sime Kovacevic also dropping out of the team which lost to Perth Glory with a knee complaint. So struck down is Simmonds' squad that the new manager has failed to name replacements for Salley and Kovacevic with only 15 fit and available players including three goalkeepers. Among those in the sick bay are Richard Johnson (hamstring), Sean Devine (back), Adam Casey (hamstring) and Scot Gemmill (hamstring). That means Ghanaian Malik Buari, one of just two players to score for the Knights this season with Noah Hickey, is in line for a recall after dropping to the bench last weekend. For Newcastle, midfielder Jobe Wheelhouse has been ruled out for the season with ankle ligament damage. Review from A League website

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC Date: Sunday December 3 Kick-off (local time): 5.00pm Venue: Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium Head-to-head Six league meetings: Sydney - 3 wins, Central Coast - 2 wins, 1 draw Previous meeting Central Coast 3 Sydney 1 (Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium, Hyundai A-League round eight, October 2006) Last five results Central Coast: Draw - Draw - Loss - Win - Win Sydney: Draw - Draw - Win - Win - Win Analysis Last season's grand finalists have begun moving ominously into form at just the right time in the race for the Hyundai A-League playoffs. After consecutive wins in recent weeks - three on the bounce for Sydney and back-to-back victories for the Central Coast - both sides now occupy their highest positions of the season. Sydney moved above Adelaide into second place last weekend with a one-sided 3-0 thrashing of Queensland Roar while the Mariners found themselves in the top four for the first time this campaign after disposing of the reigning premier. Indeed, Lawrie McKinna's fortunes have followed a strangely similar path to that of the inaugural season when his side made its run to the finals in the final phase of matches. The Mariners are well placed to imitate that late sprint with an incredible six of their final seven matches at Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium including encounters with Sydney this weekend as well as Melbourne and Adelaide. McKinna's side's stamina has been all the more impressive because of injuries to key personnel this season although the return to action of some of his casualties has too been timed to perfection. Big name signings Tom Pondeljak, Andre Gumprecht and Nik Mrdja all played a role in last week's 2-0 win over Adelaide with Gumprecht in line to replace the suspended Jamie McMaster in central midfield from the start against the champion. Brad Porter and Vuko Tomasevic have also been added to an extended squad as cover. Sydney coach Terry Butcher also appears to have left the worst of his injury worries behind him with even defender Jacob Timpano set to make his return from off season groin surgery in a friendly against NSW Premier League club Manly United this week. He has named the same 15-man squad, though, with Timpano's short-term cover Nikolai Topor-Stanley retaining his place. Ruben Zadkovich is added. Review from A League website

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 NZ v Newcastle under 2.5 NZ at home: D 0-0 v Newcastle W 1-0 v Adelaide L 0-3 v Melbourne L 0-1 v Sydney L 0-1 v Central Coast L 0-4 v Melbourne W 1-0 v Queesnland L 0-2 v Central Coast NZ have only scored 2 goals all up (at home) but except for the competition leaders (Melbourne) have not conceded more than 2 goals. While they do struggle to score, they also ensure it is hard for them to be scored against. Newcastle away: D 0-0 NZ L 5-1 v Adelaide D 2-2 v Sydney D 1-1 v Central Coast W 0-1 v Queensland L 2-1 v Perth While Newcastle have been good at home they have have ordinary away. They have scored in every away game but they do struggle to put their chances away. I don't like the short odds of a Newcastle victory so i will go with the under in case NZ get a late equaliser.

Re: Australian A League Round 15 December 1-3 Central Coastv Sydney CC at home: D 0-0 v Queensland D 1-1 v Newcastle W 3-1 v Sydney W 2-1 v Perth W 2-0 v Adelaide CC are unbeaten at home as they start the 1st of 4 home games. They haven't concede a goal in their last 2 games but have scored at least 2 goals in their last 4 games overall. Sydney away: L 1-0 v Melbourne D 1-1 v Perth W 0-1 v NZ W 1-4 v Adelaide L 3-1 v Central Coast D 1-1 v Newcastle They have an ordinary away form of 2-2-2. However these results are based on last year's champions without some of their key players due to injuries. In their last 3 games when they have had their full strength lineup, they have won all 3 games at home, scoring 9 and conceding only 1. Big games between last years's grand finalists with both teams coming into form at the right time. However i'm going to play Sydney because they have 2 things going for them: MOMENTUM and REVENGE. They were very angry after their loss to CC and talk is they want payback. With the return of some of their key players they have the game and the confidence to win this. CC are a solid side but lack the class of Sydney, however they make up for it with a very good organisation and discipline. I think Sydney edges it but unsure of an under or over

Yeh agree that Newcastle are way too short when you consider some of the Knight's efforts at home this year, beating Adelaide and Queensland 1-0 and fair 0-1 losses to Mariners and Sydney. Think the Knights drew 0-0 with the Jets in first round of season, so they have the ability to contain away teams. Worth noting that the Knights are coming off an away game in Perth and they have never won the next game after playing in Perth the previous week, perhaps due to the long plane flight home after playing in very high temperatures in Perth. Doubt I will be betting on this game, but may watch it, althought the Knights are about as exciting to watch as paint dry. :dude
