RJILLA
Posted by SLAPDASH :RJILLA, thanks for being so understanding. I notice you're from the US. I think a lot of us would be interested in your experiences of how the recent US legislation is affecting online poker players there. Feel free to start a thread in "Poker Chat". :ok It is affecting us a great deal we currently have about 200 days to figure it out we do have our options like neteller etc. but when will that end is up in the air as well than we have Bill Frist the scumbag who snuck the law on the port authority bill (a bill that has NADA to do with gambling) is possibly going to run for president, the only thing we have going for us is the DEMS won back the Senate and Congress so we might have a shot to turn this around over the next 2 yrs ( I am happy about that and I am not a DEM) it has become hard ,alot of sites are not available to us any longer ill stop the ramble for now.... If you have any specific questions shoot em my way RJILLA ( new member )
GaF
Re: US legislation form a new US member Nice one Rjilla :ok Didn't Bill Frist lose his seat in the Mid Terms? Largely because of the "poker" vote? Has that shown any sign of slowing him down? It obviously hasn't ended his career if he's going for president.... How significant an issue was Poker/Gaming in the Mid Terms? It seems that it is a "vote decider" for hundreds of thousands of Americans - is it a big enough issue that the Republicans couldn't win the next election with it? slapdash
Re: US legislation form a new US member The bill seemed to get through because, although many of the people voting had no particular opinions on internet gambling, it would be political suicide for them to vote against a bill whose main purpose was to do with national security. Do you have any feeling for what the general opinion in the US is about gambling? Do a significant proportion of people, apart from the extreme religious right, view it as "evil"? And do you think there are many people who genuinely think internet gambling is a threat to national security (terrorists money-laundering by playing the Omaha H/L tables on Party Poker, etc.)? RJILLA
Re: US legislation form a new US member Actually Frist choose not too run so he could prepare for a run at the white house (what a nightmare) If he were to win Online gambling for americans would be done I am a republican so it is very hard for me to agree with the dems however on this particular matter 73% of all americans (who vote) dont think there is a problem with gambling wheather it be online or in a casino (hint look at any casino in america on a weekend) we all know the problem is they are seeing too much money leave this country or come into the country ( win or lose) and they are getting NONE of it and they dont like it okay enough rambling for now but Ill be back lol :cheers Nice one Rjilla :ok Didn't Bill Frist lose his seat in the Mid Terms?
