What about this to keep track of how we're doing? Current Season Name Wins Runs % +/- Last 14 Days Name Wins Runs % +/- Last 7 Days Name Wins Runs % +/- and no ratings??...its simple & effective Just like the stats at Sporting Life Only those with winners be posted in the "Last" days...maybe even include the amount of placers?

Dont worry, dontbegreat, no matter which way I spin it I can't dislodge you from the top quarter of the table! LOL :lol :rollin I tell ya, I've redone the calculations 50 times today trying to get the table to balance! The HitRates, and particularly negating the 1 for 1 = 100% factor, is proving very difficult! The thing is doing that whilst maintaining the importance of a good proportion of wins is proving dicey. Gonna get some beer, see if that helps the old noodle to fire... :beer

Banker Rules
Only bets that really are the best bet of the day, one you would lump on, a banker is a bet you would not envisage losing.

Only 1 bet, per punter, per day.

All bets 10pt WIN bets only.

Please make sure all bets posted include the Time, Course and Selection name.

Starting Price will be used for all calculations.

Bankers should be posted a reasonable time before the race.
Punters Lounge Rating (PLR) Rules
All bets placed in the banker thread (according to the banker rules) in the past 30 days will be valid and counted towards your PLR.

On a daily basis, all bets placed in the bankers thread BEFORE 13:00 (1pm) will be eligible for the PLR Daily Top 5 bets.

The PLR Top 5 bets will be posted shortly after 13:00 (1pm) each day.

Of all the eligible Top 5 bets, the 5 bets belonging to the punters with the highest PLR calculated up to the previous day will be selected.
In the event that less than 5 eligable Top 5 bets are posted before 1pm, then only those bets from a rated punter will be used, meaning that some days maysee less than 5 selections.

PLR will be recalculated in the afternoon/evening following the running of all banker races for the next day.

The Top 5 PLR bets and the PLR itself should not effect the running of the bankers thread in any way, except to encourage the punters to make only the most confident bets.

PLR will be expressed as a whole number of 0 to 100. In the event of ties the remainder (rounded to 2 decimal places, expressed as rr) of the punters PLR will be used to decide.
PLR Rating
Now consists of 3 Figures. These figures are summed and divided to give a rating of 0 to 100. These figures are listed bellow separately with along with the percentage to which the apply to the overall rating, a description and explanation of the calculations used.

ReturnRating accounts for 40% of the PLR
This rating factors in the punters profit and loss for the last 30 days. The amount of profit or loss is depreciated according to the age of the profit/loss. The depreciation functions are shown below, and are applied to each winning/losing bet within the age limit.
bO = Decimal SP of bet
bA = Age of bet in days
dW = Depreciated Winnings Number
dL = Depreciated Losses Number
Wins
dW = ( ( wO - 1 ) / 30 ) * ( 31 - bA )
Loses
dL = ( 1 / 30 ) * ( 31 - bA )

These calculations are necessary to even out the amount of bonus the punter gets over the 30 days that a bet is valid, which stops drastic drops in the PLR when a large return goes out of date range. Your ReturnRating is therefore calculated as so:

sdW = The sum of the depreciated Winnings Numbers (dW) for that punter in 30 days
sdL = The sum of the depreciated Losses Numbers (dL) for that punter in 30 days

ReturnRating = ( MAX ( sdW – sdL, 0 ) ) * 8

This gives us a number from 0 to 80, with punters whose losses are greater than their winnings their ReturnRating is 0.

HitRating accounts for 40% of the PLR
This rating factors in the amount of bets the punter has made won against their total amount of bets. To ensure a perfect rating can not be achieved after just one bet, the punter is counted as having made 5 bets or the actual number of bets whichever is greater, as explained in the calculation below.

nS = The number of selections made by the punter in the 30 day period
nW = The number of winning selections made by the punter in the 30 day period

HitRating = ( nW / MAX ( nS , 5 ) ) * 80

HotPunterRating accounts for 20% of the PLR

This rating factors in the recent performance of the punter. The number of bets made and won in the last 7 days are used to calculate this rating. This rating is only calculated if the punter has had a win within 7 days, otherwise the punters HotPunterRating is rated as 0.

dS = Number of selections made by the punter in 7 days
dW = Number of winning selections made by the punter in 7 days

HotPunterRating = ( dW / MAX ( dS , 3 ) * 40

Combined PLR Rating
The final rating is calculated as so, simply.

pPLR =Round( ( ReturnRating + HitRating + HotPunterRating ) / 2 , 2 )

PLR = INT ( pPLR )
rr = ( pPLR - INT ( pPLR ) ) * 100

Easy!

Don't let me stop you, mate, I absolutely need your input as one of the "regular bankers". Especially when you see this, my latest offerings!!!

Perhaps we need about 4 of us willing to lend a hand to make this work. We can share the workload. guys - dont forget this goes back 30 days also.

Sorry for the confusion! Just gonna tabulate todays results now... WFTE, I have you as having no winners as of yesturday, todays win means you will now rate. Basically its 1 win in the last 30 days to qualify.

Clearly the punter on fire with 4 out of 5 in the last 7 days alone! Sure enought alexmac is now in profit and WFTE's win today qualifies him for a rating and he enters nearly halfway up the table. See you all tommorow. Keep the feedback coming guys, it is excellent and after all their your ratings, so keep an eye open for observations... I personally like the inactivity drift thats going on, I'm down nearly a whole PLR point because I didn't play today! 1 winner in 30 is the only qualifier, but if you want to see any action from the HitRateRating you'll need to be placing 5-6 in 30 days with a decent win rate or 2-4 with a perfect win rate... Re: New Bankers Thread - Rules etc Ok guys, In regards to running the system/ratings... I'm happy to do them most of the time. I can handle genorating the ratings (data entry is actually pretty easy and the spreadsheet calculates everything automatically, but you do need to know your way around it...) Monday to Thursday ratings calculation should be no problem whatsoever, Fridays ratings would only be a problem if the last banker is run after 5:30pm, but I should still be able to cope. Weekend should be ok barring anything major going on. It regards to the PLR Top 5 Picks again I should be ok doing these but as the ratings are available anyone can jump i there... Ok, now housekeeping. Following the testing and tweeking period, I would suggest the following... I will start a new thread called Punters Lounge Ratings and PLR Rules, into which I can post the PLR specific rules on the first post, the PLR calculations in the second and post new ratings tables at the end of each day. This would keep all the ratings together and reduce clutter/chat. We can then shut this thread up as its become a bit cluttered with revision, chat and tables... I would suggest also that the banker rules that where written down earlier in this thread be re-itterated at the top of each bankers thread. In the banker thread we will post the PLR Top 5 Picks daily shortly after 1pm, and the results once in, including profit and loss. Sound like a plan? (Slight edit to PLR rules, see previous)

Re: New Bankers Thread - Rules etc Although I do agree with the devaluation of past bets, there is one concern I have. It may encourage people to post up "Bankers" reguarly just to keep their rating "fresh". If people believe they are finding bankers everyday then fair enough but sometimes a true banker may not come along for a week or even more. Just dont want people to feel pressured on declaring something a banker to keep their rating up if they dont truly believe it to be so.

Ive not posted a banker today as theres nothing that really takes my fancy,plenty of tips but nothing Id sell the wife for( bottle of vodka i might do), which is something Ive always done, maybe its not a coincidence then that I have a good P.L Rating. Bankers are excatly that a BANKER not your best bet 'NAP' of the day, there is a difference.

I think you'll be one of the guys that ends up appriciating the depriciating return rates calculation. In your case it means that even though you have 7 losses in your 30 days, the older they get the less they will affect your rating, until finally on day 31 they factor down into non-existance.... Oh and don't forget, there are some 30 punters with selections in 30 days but no winners and are UnRated...
