GaF
I was so disgusted with Super Systems II advice on NL Holdem that it was quickly consigned to the bookshelf to gather dust. The other night on Poker Night Live they were saying that despite the maniac (and carp) advice in it for NLH, the other sections were better (and more "conventional") - so I dusted it down and started reading the "Omaha Eight or Better" section - is good clear reading :ok Have played a bit of Omaha Hi Lo Cash Tables tonght on Boss (25c/50c Pot Limit) and done ok (not great, but ok :) ) If you are starting to play the variations, then it seems to me that you could do a lot worse than SS II (and I haven't had a good thing to say about this book before)
Jaded
Re: Reading About Poker Variations I'm flicking thru the sections occassionally, although I quite like in for NLH advice as well - Doyle taught me everything I know! (I can hear y'all cursing him...) The one on 7 card stud 8 or better is very good, IMO.
ginnerjones
Re: Reading About Poker Variations Hi Got Doyle's ss1...is the 2nd one any better? Mind you need a lot more than books to better my game...lol
