OK I haven't posted for a while as I've been working away, but anyway just thought I would share some good news (well good for me anyway). I played my first ever live tournament on Friday night (it was £12.50 to enter with £5 rebuys). I initially thought I would struggle to the live game but I ended up finishing 2nd out of 73 players to win £240. I did add on at the end of the rebuy period but that was it. Not bad for my first live game. I'll not go into too much details but was suprised at how many tells I managed to pick up on the players, or what I think were tells. Of course there was the usual rebuy idiots much like the online game but I did find that there was some good players as well. I played tight and aggressive for the first hour until the rebuys ended and only played 2 hands in that time! We finally finished at 2.30 in the morning from an 8pm start when my all in of K10 with a flop of J, 9 3 was called with KQ and I got outkicked by the chip leader (who I must say had about 3 times my amount of chips at that stage). I have to say, after playing live I am converted in that I find the game much more enjoyable than playing online. Have been playing online for just over 2 years but think I will now start to play more live games if I can. Just wanted to know others views on the differences between the live game and online. I know its probably been covered many times before here on Punters Lounge but after taking the plunge and experiencing it, I feel like a newbie all over again!

Re: First Live Tournament Hi Doddsy Ive got too agree with your comments on live over online, I find it a lot more enjoyable, I feel I'm more involved in the game even if folding cards. Unfortunatley most games are rebuys here, to try and get the pots bigger and i find the rebuy periods very painful as people just try and double up. Freezeout tourneys tend to be a lot more expensive, but then again worth winning, which probably put the amateur off
