Golf Final Round 30/07

Recommended Posts

The "Closer" ....... Westwood's the name, Lee Westwood, 33 years old and I win golf tournaments for a living. Sixteen to date on the European tour, a win on every continent and probably going to make it 17 on Sunday, might buy myself a burger to celebrate. No, Lee is far too modest to say any of that, apart from the burger part, but, in contention, this guy can "close the deal" like very few others. Some are of the opinion that he can't cut it anymore, but they are wrong. Seen him come charging through the field on a Sunday, far too many times for that and, just as importantly, so have the rest of the Tour. So much of this game is played, between the ears. I can promise you that Robert Karlsson, who leads by two from Lee, they are in turn a further two strokes clear of the "field", would rather it was someone else, anyone else, breathing down his neck. The Swede can win tournaments, indeed he is a winner this year, but he is also capable of the odd stinker and I have seen him get very nervous. LW has won this tournament twice before, holds the tournament scoring record, which could be beaten tomorrow and the 18 hole course record of 61. Maybe you think I overestimate his final round ability and nerve, well, listen up. The last "charge" Lee made to win, came in the BMW event in Germany, after round 3 he was in a tie for 6th place, 3 shots off the lead. Shooting a 66 he won the tournament by 3, beating the overnight leader by 5, an 8 shot swing, the leader (?) ............... oh, a Swede named Karlsson. When Westwood last won this event in 2000, he trailed someone by the name of Tiger Woods by 2 strokes. He shot 64, won by 3 and beat Woods, "the greatest closer in the business" by 4. Give this guy a chance and he is like a shark with blood in his nostrils. He is striking the ball very well this week, watching the final holes in round 3, I found myself praying he would not get within one stroke, so that we would get a better price on Sunday. I believe the Worksop Wonder will win the Deutsche Bank Players Championship, for the third time, suggest you get on. The odds below are currently available, but for small liquidity, there may be more later, anything over 4.0 is very good value. 5 points Lee Westwood outright 4.20 betfair. www.ubet2win.blogspot.com
