The Lincoln Handicap - Saturday

Recommended Posts

I always remember the biggest betting sting of the year would be the SPRING double yet no one mentions it anymore! The 1st stage is on Saturday where the Lincoln will be held at Redcar whilst Donny is under refurbishment. This may cause a stir on the stats but the courses are similar in that it is a straight mile & the draw will have some effect. 10 yr trends 4yo's have won 5/10 (from only 1/3 of all runners) 5yo's 3/10 9st & under 8/10 7yo's 0/10 Official Rating (OR) 85+ 10/10 Official Rating (OR) 95+ 4 winners from 70 horses Official Rating (OR) 85-94 6 winners from 131 horses SP 7/1 & under 5 wins from 16 horses Favourites 4/10 To be placed SP's 7-1 & under 10 horses from 16 Seasonal start 8 winners in last 10 years Prep on AW 2/10 i'd be looking for: horses aged 4 or 5 weighing no ore than 9st OR 85+ with preference for those 95+ SP 7/1 & under No previous run this season Unless something gets backed off the boards, the selected ones are Cesare @ 8/1 and Kings Majesty @ 6/1. My each way punts would go on Benedict @ 25/1 & Dansili Dancer @ 16/1. My staking plan for this would be Cesare & Kings Majesty 5pts win both Benedict & Dansili Dancer 2pts ew both 18pts staked The only issue here to be decided is the draw. Typically at Donny the middle draws have no chance with only 1 horse winning from a middle draw over 10 years which was last year. I dont personally think we will know what to expect as Redcar dont normally run races until late April &its a pity that there is no undercard the day before to get an idea.

Re: The Lincoln Handicap - Saturday Hi bowles10 Is Saturday the first day of the turf proper as I noticed a listed race at Lingfield on Thursday the Doncaster Mile but looks like it's an AW race to me. Every year the Turf season always started on the Thurs before the Lincoln.
