The Poker Channel presents the prestigious British Poker Open 2006. Will it be shown live on TV even though The Poker Channel's been shuffled off to the end of beyond and it's not at it's previous plum position in the Sky Digital channel numbering system? As much I kind of enjoy watching the Ladbrokes Poker Million and the William Hill Grand Prix, real time is much better than the publicity ban and staggered showing that means it's on TV a few months after the event's finished. Can't help thinking that as much as some people want to think poker's a sport, it isn't being treated with that much respect....Channel 4 are hyping that they've got the Poker Nations Cup or something. We know who won and it kills a lot of it's suspense. Some might say to me, why is the WPT such a success then?
