Memphis -2 League: 0-8 (Av. loss 7.2) home 4- dog, off a 10+ ats loss as home (-3 to +3) if opp is off a 10+ ats loss. [Phil] Tells me that the line is just too low due to the Grizz's poor performance last game...but Philli are playing worse right now, much worse! Philli are just 6-9 in their last 15 games...with wins v. Boston, Seattle, Sac, Denver, Toronto and GS....only Denver have a winning record (21-19)..and ALL of them are in the bottom 11 for points allowed. In fact, Philli have won just 2 games all season when they haven't scored 100+... ...and it makes sense, because they simply don't play enough defense to stop teams. They have allowed 95+ in their last 13 games...av. 107.4 ppg in their last 5. Memphis are 23-14 and allow the fewest ppg @ 86.9. Washington -4.5 League: 2-8 (1-9 this no...av. loss 15.0!) any away dog, 1 day off a 10+ ats win as home 4- dog, if opp is off a 10- ats loss. [NO] Pretty much the same deal in this game...NO have had some wins on the road lately which is keeping the line low, but wins @ a half strength Charlotte and about a 1/4 strength Houston don't count for much! Before that they had lost 8 of 9 games on the road, with 7 of them being by 7 or more. Washington have allowed just 89 ppg in their last 5...72 and 76 in the 2 home games, to freer scoring, better shooting teams than NO.
