Washington @ Indi under 193.5 League: 1-11 under (Av. total 191.4...av. score 179.6!) home 5+ fav, 1 day off a 15+ ats win as home 5+ fav, if opp is off a 15+ ats win. [indi] (0-11 under since '98) (0-1 under this season) 0-6 under (Av. total 186.2...av. score 171.5!) if opp is off a 20+ ats win. (0-7 under with any rest) Pretty sure this total is a bit inflated after Indi dropped 112 on the Bucks on Wednesday, but with a closer look it was a much more 'normal' game than it appeared. Indi games av. 185.2 ppg...they av. 74 shots, (18 3's & 28 FT's) Despite scoring 112, they had just 71 shots! (18 3's and 33 FT's) So you can see that the high score was simply from shooting a very high % (56.3% and 50% 3's in fact!)...a lot of which were jump shots as they had just 9 fast break points and 38 points in the paint. That will be tough to reproduce tonight...esp. with Washington coming off one of their best defensive performances of the season, holding Atlanta to 72 points @ 39.4%. Washinton road stats are inflated due to playing some high scoring teams latey (NY, Suns, Denver, Seattle), and they will struggle to score tonight on an Indi D that allow just 86.1 ppg at home. Philli -5.5 League: 16-5 (20-1 this no!...Av. win 13.2) home 5+ fav, any rest off a 10+ ats win as any home fav, if total is 210+! [Phil] (home team av. 115.0 ppg!!) Much like Orlando @ Seattle the other day, the high total here relates more to the road teams defensive deficiencies than the home team's. Boston allow 106.5 ppg on the road @ 48%!, and they find it tough to maintain any kind of defensive pressure...they are just 2-11 ats after a win this season, and 3-10 ats after holding a team to <100. Philli av. 104.1 ppg at home as it is, and should be able to score enugh to put the Celtics away in this one.
