Re: Slapdash systems 2006

Sorry if im tracking off in completely the wrong direction. But, do betfair have more up-to-the-minute and specialist knowledge of which horses are going to do well. whereas, the big bookies have more rigid odds which change less often. so you beat them to the b est odds on their sites?
im also just realising this too , you have to be quick to use this system and get the bet on by phone before the bookies price falls back in line with betfairs price. this system will only work long term if you get the same prices as slapdash each day

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 Good day everyone. Didn't have much time earlier and not many races fit the system anyway. The only I am happy about is Fractured Foxy - Beverly 6.30 @9 (Paddy Power). We get 2.6 for the place while Betfair is 8.8/2.22. Enjoy

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 Hi Pablo i signed up for betfair on sunday and im waiting til tommorrow for slapdash to post a selection and sort of work the system backwards in a sense by seeing how he came about his selections. Im not looking into lay prices at the moment just if betfair's winning odds are less than bet365. At the moment its sort of less specific but if they are 2nd of 3rd favourite's on betfair and 4th or 5th favourite's on bet365 with big odds il take them on EW so if they place i still make a profit. Im betting 50p's and pounds incase i mess up. What dyou think?

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 1. You don't need to wait for Slapdash, just monitor the markets yourself if time is available. 2. You don't bet on Betfair with this system! You use Betfair as a guide to the "true" odds and use this information to make "value" E/W bets 3. Betfair prices are often ridiculous because many are trading on a race and there is often a lemming effect!!! The odds nearer the race stat time are more valid. Note I'm ignoring form analysis to find value bets and I'm assuming that Betfair prices are correct.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 I understand what your saying but dont the big bookmakers have more time to change their odds to match betfair's, ive tried to grasp the system myself and made around 10 bets yesterday and today and made a profit. i dont know how to dicifer between the horses in tht list to come up with the two or three averaged by slapdash each day. Despite the fact tht the last 2 days have been successful and will hopefully carry on, all thanks from everyone has to go to slapdash for bringing this method to the fore. i say three cheers to the old chap! :beer

Very unlucky last night with fractured Foxy: only missed a place by a neck and was only 1/2 length behind the well-fancied granny Peel. Foxy was backed all the way into 3/1 as well, so the value with the early bet was there and provided a laying-off opportunity for those wishing to take an easy profit. All in all, a good shout, despite it being unplaced.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 The Betfair win prices on both Persian Carpet and Langdon Lane (and also Blackcomb Mountain, also in the 6.30 Bangor, are a bit high for me compared to the best early prices. The first two actually looked closer to being selections this morning. The Phantom Odds-Slasher of Sporting Odds seems to operate in the afternoon as well. The price of Blue Knight has already been cut to 10/1.

I mean 6.05 Bangor, sorry.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 Sporting odds is THE worst site - it apparently logs me out for no reason, or doesn't log me in at all. It's constantly acting up and has cost me on blue knight, from 14/1 to 10/1 within moments. On stan james (never lets me down) I would have made the bet at 14/1, now I'm tempted to wait it out and hope the odds come back up.

I don't have problems with connection but it doesn't make any difference since the stakes are limited. I could take only 13+13GBP.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006

Leicester 18:50 has got 18 runners As I understand it is large handicap race Does the system use 16+ races? I thought that only 8+ handicaps races are applied
Large Handicap Early Price System. Here I'll look at handicaps with at least 16 runners, so four places are paid. I'll look for horses where an early price for the place is at least 20% better than Betfair and the early price for a win is at least the Betfair win price. I'll always take best early price on these. The above is taken from Slapdash's very first post in this thread.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006

Forgive if this has been asked already but if you are finding 14/1 whilst betfair is 12' date=' and no doubt 12.5 to lay, then why are you not putting your life savings on the arb?[/quote'] The other reason except limited stakes is a factor of non-runner(s). Short priced horse can change the odds dramatically and very often the effect with bookies is stronger than with Betfair. The other thing (probably more serious) is the fact that NRs can cut the number of places that are paid by bookies but Betfair can not obviosly change it. Unless they void all bets and open the market again. I have already mentioned it in this thread and I repeat it again. I tried the arbitrage three times. A NR was in two races and once it cut the number of places from 3 to 2. I covered my position and ended with an acceptable loss. The horse finished 4th so it would be a succesfull arb but do you really want to put your life savings and hope that the horse will not finish 3rd? There is no need to do arbitrage in a long run. The value is in the early prices and in the pattern of races selected. When you manage your bank reasonably you make even bigger profit because you don't have to pay commission to exchanges.

Re: Slapdash systems 2006 Calm down! :) I don't mind if people post selections that they think I might have missed from my systems here, but I'd appreciate it if other selections (for different selection strategies) could go in a separate thread. The same goes for general questions about each-way betting, etc., that are not specifically related to this system. Otherwise this thread gets very cluttered, and it's getting so that I need to search back through two or three pages to find my last update of the figures! Thanks.
