Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January In the software - Menu/Raked hands gives the option to interogate how many raked hands you have played specifically towards this freeroll, so it will be easy to tell once we get underway.

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January I read this post from another forum about Ladbrokes Freeroll. It does make me chuckle the term 'raked hands freeroll' playing 500 hands at a sensible limit table is going to cost around $0.10/per raked hand so $50 buyin for a freeroll - whats the max entrants? 2000? 10000? At 2000 its offering ladbrokes a break even - and 10000 theyre making a fortune. Good Gimick, Good Marketing. Interesting, never thought of it like that :eek

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January Yes, sure they're not doing it for love!!! Remember, each raked hand is shared by a number of people at the table - so one rake for laddies is awarded to maybe 5 people at the table (:unsure - I'm not certain of the exact raked hands format at laddies - will read some of their smallprint later!!) And if you can break even (inclusive of rake), then it is a freeroll for you (subsidised by the losing players!!) - if you are going to lose money over the 500 raked hands then it is certainly NOT worth doing!!! I don't play ladbrokes much (since I fell out with them over their cashier system and told them I'd never deposit with them again - seems I can't keep my word!!) - but I would be amazed if they got anywhere near 2000 entrants!!! I think the promo deserves a large number of entrants - but in reality, how many will really get 500 raked hands and enter?

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January

How long will it take ? hmmm
Ok - I started this off last night. I earnt 103 raked hands. This was playing 4 tables ($0.10/$0.20) at a time, over a period of 90 minutes. On table 1, over 80 minutes, I was dealt 50 hands and voluntarily put $ in the pot on 6% of hands. On table 2, over 81 minutes, I was dealt 57 hands and voluntarily put $ in the pot on 12% of hands. On table 3, over 73 minutes, I was dealt 59 hands and voluntarily put $ in the pot on 17% of hands. On table 4, over 86 minutes, I was dealt 62 hands and voluntarily put $ in the pot on 6% of hands. Unfortunately I also did this for a loss (on all 4 tables!!) - I have some holes I need to plug!!! Overall, playing like this, I am therefore looking at about 7 1/2 hours playing time to get into the freeroll. Just a couple of notes - hands are counted from 00:01 Friday to 23:59 Thursday - so it's not upto the start of the tournament!!!!!

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January mmmm, looks very interesting. Might have a stab at this next week, couple of things make this stick out for me. Most players that enter this will be cash players, not tournament players, two different games altogether. Last one only had 729 people in it! That is a value tournament if ever I saw one! Now need to put 71/2 hours of my life aside to get into it :)

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January

yeah . Whats the min ? I'm ok with the limits of 50c/$1 though . If that's the case ' date=' may throw some funds and deposit to get that amount of raked hands soon .[/quote'] It states on the Raked Hands Page (Get to it from the menu) that the hands only count if the rake is at least 25c

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January I just had a thought here. looks like it's possible to get entry into this for as little as $25! If we lock up a 6 seater $1/$2 table with PLers, and then get everyone to limp in on every hand for 500 hands, and everyone fold to the small blind after the flop. This put's 30c as the rake for each hand, times 500 is $150, divide that by 6 and everyone is paying $25 and they have entry to the tournament :) Only question is how long it would take us to play 500 hands in that way. I reckon we could easily hit 200 hands/hour so should take us 2 1/2 hours tops. Anyone interested? Btw, nice post above GAF, I'm gonna have to look into those EVs on pokerroom.

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January I'm going to continue playing "normally" - I want to improve my cash game!!!! And the only way I'll do that is to work on it and practice..... If I'm struggling to get to 500 though, and you have space, I may well join you at the end........

I've been playing every hand on 4 tables in the run up to midnight to get my 500 raked hands for this freeroll to finish up on............. ..........fcukin 499 raked hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has to be worth an email to them, but I'm not expecting much sympathy and am not hopeful!!!!! Another 15 seconds, 30 seconds and it would have ticked over to 500 ..........

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhh that has to hurt
You really can't imagine...... My effort to get there, with these 499 raked hands, has resulted in a loss of $104.50 - usually I would not have allowed that to happen, however I allowed myself to keep playing (and hopefully learning) because over the same period I have won more than that in MTT's. I can understand players being successful at MTT's but not Cash Games, but am surprised that I could do so well in SO minimum cash games, survive in Prima minimum stake cash games, but am totally slaughtered in Laddies minimum stakes cash games - I'm presuming that the standard at laddies is higher than Prima, which is higher than SO - anyone else back this up (or oppose it) with their own experiences? I've read Harringtons Tourney Book, maybe it's time I read a cash game book - any recommendations?

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January Agree lads is a higher standard than prima, for tourneys as well as cash. You know - I've been a few hands short for the 365 freeroll a couple of times and gotten an invite anyway. They seem to lop 5-10 hands of the requirements for people that just missed, maybe Lads do the same? And if you don't, a pleading email saying you hit 499 hands before the clock ran down on you might get you an invite anyway, customer support are really good over there.... Cash game book: Winning Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones, even if you don't play limit! Edit: Just noticed you already said about emailing them. I'd be more optimistic than that though, I reckon they'll take pity on you.

My previous experiences with Ladbrokes Customer Services haven't been too good, and if they look into my history with them, I don't think it will count in my favour!! :sad Hmmm.....I only play no-limit - reading strategy on Limit worries me a little, because the games ARE so different........

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January I'm sorry Ladbrokes - I take back everything I ever said about you,

As a goodwill gesture you are now registered for the Weekly Raked hands freeroll. Good luck in the tournament and have a good new year.

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January Ladbrokes sportsbook customer services are a shambles. I'd definitely recommend phoning them and speaking to the manager. They want your custom after all, and it makes no difference to them if you are in the freeroll or not. That really is bad luck violent-smiley-016.gif EDIT: nice one!

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January well , you did better than me GaF . I spent the last few hours of yesterday raking up only 190 hands . But didn't have the losses that you had . I was up 70 at one stage . Now sitting comfortable with at least a $30 profit though . I will send an e-mail too . Indicating if its possible for me to try to hit 500 first before the review it again . Hope i'm in time for that too . I had pleasant experiences with ladbrokes before so i hope they would help me out though . :)

Re: Ladbrokes $100,000 weekly freerolls in January My own personal experiences . For laddies , their plays are more aggressive pre-flop than compared to bet365 . You can see a definite raise in most of the hands for laddies , not so much as compared to bet365 . However , in laddies , i can't win at 10 player tables but can do so in 6 . However , in bet365 , total reverse . I can win at 10 player tables , but difficult to do in 6 . Weird isn't it ? :loon :loon
