BETFAIR won't do it ?

Why can’t I ask for the odds that I want and wait until such time as they are matched ?

Betfair always matches my bet at the odds shown on screen and this is the opposite of what I want.

I know it says ‘keep in-play’ but that is not what I want.

I have clicked on ‘Bet Persistance’ but that does not seem to have any effect.

Smarkets provide the facility of the Punter being able to ask for adds and then wait until they are matched, but not Betfair.

Is there any way to do it on Betfair ?   I want to key in odds that are different from the screen and then wait until they are matched ( or otherwise ).

Not fully sure what you mean but I'll have a go ...

eg . A.Villa  1.33        Draw    5.5      Leicester  8.5

Now ... say that you want to back Leicester .... but want 10.0  ... click on the bet (it will come up as 8.5) ... delete this ... and then type in 10 (or the odds you want) ... then place bet. It won't be matched ... but could be matched later.

This can also be used for 'in play'  .... say back Leicester at 8.5 ... IF they score first the odds usually shorten and you could have a lay bet already in place to effectively 'cash out' and green up etc.

Not sure if this is what you were after.
