The Pakistan Super League (PSL) in its 8 years of existence has witnessed some incredible high-scoring matches. Here’s a list of the highest team totals in PSL history.

Known for its thrilling and fast-paced cricket, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) stands as one of the top T20 leagues globally. Initially held across three cities in the UAE, the league later shifted entirely to Pakistan, where flat wickets favor batters, allowing for high-scoring games. Below, we explore the highest team totals recorded in PSL history.

HIGHEST TEAM TOTALS IN PSL (2016–2023)

1. Multan Sultans — 262/3 (2023)

Multan Sultans set the highest total in PSL history during a 2023 league match against Quetta Gladiators at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After being asked to bat, the Sultans’ openers, Usman Khan and captain Mohammad Rizwan, dominated the powerplay, scoring 91 runs — the highest in that stage of PSL 2023. Usman smashed 120 off 43 balls, while Rizwan contributed 50 off 26 deliveries. Their destructive partnership helped Multan post an imposing total of 262/3.

2. Quetta Gladiators — 253/8 (2023)

In the same match where Multan Sultans scored 262, Quetta Gladiators nearly chased down the target. Though Jason Roy was dismissed early, Martin Guptill (37 off 14) and Omair Yousuf (67 off 36) kept Quetta in the game. Iftikhar Ahmed added 53 off 31 balls, and Umar Akmal scored 28 off 10 balls. However, Abbas Afridi’s 5/47, including a hat-trick, helped the Sultans defend their total. A total of 33 sixes were hit across both innings in this action-packed match.

3. Islamabad United — 247/2 (2021)

Islamabad United set a then-record 247/2 against Peshawar Zalmi during a 2021 group stage match in Abu Dhabi. Captain Usman Khawaja led the charge with an unbeaten 105 off 56 balls, becoming the first captain in PSL history to score a century. Colin Munro (48), Brandon King (46*), and Asif Ali (43) all contributed as United surpassed their own previous record of 238/3 set in 2019.

4. Multan Sultans — 245/3 (2022)

Multan Sultans recorded the highest total in PSL 7, scoring 245/3 against Quetta Gladiators at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Mohammad Rizwan (83* off 54 balls) and Shan Masood (57 off 38) gave a strong start, while Rilee Rossouw’s rapid 71 off 26 deliveries pushed Multan to this massive total.

Multan Sultans made PSL history by completing the highest successful run chase in the league’s history. Chasing 243 against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi, Multan’s top order stumbled early, but Rilee Rossouw’s incredible 121 off 51 balls and Kieron Pollard’s 52 off 25 helped them achieve the target with 5 balls to spare.

6. Quetta Gladiators — 243/2 (2023)

In another high-scoring affair during PSL 8, Quetta Gladiators chased down Peshawar Zalmi’s target of 241 in Rawalpindi. Jason Roy’s unbeaten 145 off 63 balls was the highlight, as he and Will Smeed added 109 for the second wicket. Quetta won by 8 wickets, registering the second-highest successful chase in PSL history.

7. Peshawar Zalmi — 242/6 (2023)

Despite a strong batting performance, Peshawar Zalmi fell short in defending their 242/6 against Multan Sultans in Rawalpindi. Captain Babar Azam scored 73 off 39 balls, while Saim Ayub (58) and Mohammad Haris (35 off 11) also contributed. However, Multan chased the total down with Rilee Rossouw’s century leading the way.

8. Lahore Qalandars — 241/3 (2023)

In PSL 8, Lahore Qalandars posted 241/3 against Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore. Fakhar Zaman (96 off 45) and Abdullah Shafique (75 off 41) played pivotal roles in the innings, as the Qalandars defended the total, winning by 40 runs.

9. Peshawar Zalmi — 240/2 (2023)

In Rawalpindi, Peshawar Zalmi scored 240/2 against Quetta Gladiators, with captain Babar Azam leading from the front with 115 off 65 balls. Saim Ayub added 74 off 34 balls in a massive 162-run opening partnership. Despite the huge total, Quetta chased it down comfortably, thanks to Jason Roy’s masterclass.

10. Islamabad United — 238/3 (2019)

Islamabad United posted what was then the highest total in PSL history, scoring 238/3 against Lahore Qalandars in 2019 at the National Stadium in Karachi. Cameron Delport’s unbeaten 117 off 60 balls, combined with Asif Ali’s 55* off just 12 balls, set the foundation for this massive total. Delport’s century was the fastest in PSL at the time, achieved in just 49 balls.

These totals highlight the high-octane nature of the PSL, showcasing incredible batting feats and thrilling matches year after year.
