Ronnie O'Sullivan has won the Shanghai Masters for the last 4 consecutive times. He's made no secret to the fact that he prefers to play out in China, where he treated like royalty and his results show that. Not to mention the extra money that he receives. However, I can't be having him at 3/1 and he's up against a tricky first round opponent (likely Anda)

I wonder how Allen will come back this season after absolutely bottling the Worlds match against John Higgins and he's in the bottom half of the draw where he could potentially play John in the Semi-Finals. I'm going with Allen in the bottom half and in the top half I'll take a chance on the winner of Ding and Carter.

Good to see Carter get straight into it with a 6-0 win. I'm going with 2 for the rest of the matches today. I think Higgins will have a good tournament this week. I was tempted to even have him up as an outright pick but I think Allen will be inspired after the Worlds. I also think Hawkins isn't playing well enough to be 8/13 and in China, Yuelong may have the opportunity to win this one
