Politics betting scandals!

Recommended Posts

I struggle to understand what idiot bookie took a bet from a politician about the election.  I cannot get a decent bet on at any bookie (try 10p or 25p) supposedly because of trading decisions (suggesting I am such a great predicting guru with inside information when I actually know little or nothing about the events I bet on!).

Come to think of it, shouldn't bookies being allowed to limit accounts without any explanation be classed as cheating under the gambling act?  Shouldn't they be forced to justify their actions, make it clear that their 'special offers' are not available to everyone and publish details of the percentage of punters who actually get the special offers?

Makes a mockery of their remit of "ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way"

Thoughts welcome.

They are not bookmakers these days, just accountants.

I've come to the conclusion that we need to get as much as we can out of the traditional bookies by using their opening offers etc. and then place any real bets on the exchanges.

To be honest I think the exchanges are the best thing to have ever happened for the serious punter, in effect it'slike betting with a normal bookie who operates with just a 2% overround.

It is probably easier to make money now than any time in the past.

As for politicians, don't get me started !
