The 2023/24 Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League has come to an end and I am delighted to confirm that the winner of this season's competition is @DLL's Pain In Diaz! The first place prize of £100 will be awarded to Michael Simms and it's another prize placing for the fantasy football veteran who picked up 3rd place in last season's Head-to-Head League. :cheers

Second place and a £50 cash prize goes to Timo Fernandez and their Undisputed XI side. Their 85-point total fell just 4 points short of taking top spot from Simms in the final round but was still enough to leapfrog his close rival for the 2nd place in the table. :clap

In third place, is that very man @StevenKing who guided his Lucky Pierre side to a top three finish and a £25 cash prize. It also ensured that he enjoyed a four position improvement on his last campaign. Will next year be the year that he goes all the way? :drums

@MPM's Bayern Side caused a shock in the Cup Final with a 73-67 win over @chillymonster's Chillymonsters side. Mark Pitts-Murray, you will now be the recipient of a Punters Lounge branded mug. There is the option to take up your place in Europe but we should warn you that you will need to cover all expenses for such a trip. You also get to choose the destination, of course! :lol

For one final time, let's check out who was Manager of the Week. It was @Redno2009's Loredonville FC who scraped together a whopping 99 points for the final round of games. An unfashionable front line of Chris Wood, Alexander Isak, and Jean-Philippe Mateta brought in 47 points off their own backs. The midfield duo of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden further helped them along. It was enough to pip long-time league leader Steve Durrant's EsteSakaMinging who earned 98 points. Falling at the final hurdle again there, Durrant! :cry

It wasn't a spectacular week for a lot of teams so the worst score of the week was interestingly competitive. A few teams struggled to reach the 20-point mark but it was Graham Avery's 12 Strikers who could only get 16 points. Carlton Morris and Kevin De Bruyne getting 9 of those on their own prevented it from being a humiliating final total. :spank

So that is it for another year! Thank you all for being involved this season. We can expect the new season to go up online for initial squad selections in the first week of July so keep your eyes peeled for that. I hope you all have a fantastic summer and please do stick around to post on this forum because it's an amazing place to be involved in throughout the year across all sports! :ok
