NFL Week 1 - Predictions

At last the new NFL season is starting this Thursday. As usual I am hoping for a profitable 2023.

With no form to go on in week one matches can be a coin flip. So I shall favour a few underdogs.

 1.      Dolphins to win ATS +3 points @ 10/11

The Dolphins are a strong team and may have too much for the Chargers.

2.      LV Raiders to win ATS +3.5 points @ 10/11

One QB I think is past his best is Denver’s Russell Wilson. This makes the Raiders a decent bet.

3.      Browns to win ATS+2.5 points @ 10/11

Uncertainty around the fitness of the Bengals QB Joe Burrows, together with the extra points for the home team makes the Browns appealing. Nick Chubb could be the difference.

4.      Bears to win -1 @ points 10/11

Whilst Green Bay will not implode following the loss of Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love will struggle against a feisty Bears team.

5.      Seahawks to win -5 points @ 10/11

The LA Rams will find Seattle a hostile place. With star player Cooper Kupp injured it must be advantage Seattle.

Good luck. I'll be going with anytime TD scorer system again. Having reviewed the results from the last seasons the criteria will be as follows:

• Players whose TD minutes can be sold at 20 or more
• Best bookies price is 1.9 or better
• Best bookies price offers a minimum 2% edge over my "fair" price

Would have given 189 bets, 17.01 points profit and ROI 9%. Maybe better if you can get a bigger price on the exchanges. See how it goes but it gives me an interest.
