Fontwell

Dan Skelton is one of the top trainers at Fontwell but you look more closely you will see that his record with Chasers here makes him well worth following.

Over the last 3 years Skelton has had 13 runners over fences and no less than 7 of them have won for a S/R of 54%

Compared to just 3 winners over hurdles from 22 runners!

On Wednesday he has 2 runners over fences;

Our friend Nigel Hawke is at it again on Sunday, this time at Market Rasen

He is the furthest traveller of the day making the 500+ mile round trip to Lincolnshire from his Devon yard.

He has just one runner at a track where he has had 11 winners from 46 runners, showing a decent level stakes profit.

Overall he has had 9 winners in the last month.§

Haydock

I notice that the stats for NH favourites at Haydock Park is way lower than the average you would find in most places.

On further inspection its the Chase Favourites that are letting the side down

Over the last 5 years only 32 fav's have won in 129 Chases which represents just 25%

On Wednesday we have 2 chases so will lay both favourites.

3.10 looks like Buttercup will be fav.

4.10 looks like Saroque will be fav at the moment.

Both trained by Venetia Williams incidentally!

Plumpton

Alan King's horses have been a bit quiet but 4 winners in the last fortnight shows he's one to watch at the minute.

He has a fair record at Plumpton when he visits with 18 winners from 50 runners in the last 5 years.

he has just one horse entered at the Sussex track on Monday

Great stuff G'

Always liked Mr Fleming, he's a very honest trainer.

With such a good bit of detective work the question is...........Why didn't you make it your BBOTD? :eyes

Limerick 1.45 Lyreen Lad

Ruby Walsh has just 2 rides here this afternoon with his main ride being obviously the Mullins hotpot later on, but he does have a very good record here for Tony Martin.  They've teamed up here 6 times previously, winning 3 and placing with 2 of the remaining 3 for figures of 50%  £6.73 and 83% £9.81 respectively.  So although the form of Lyreen Lad isn't too inspiring, the booking of Ruby might be a tip that a good run is expected.
