Tote Scoop 6 - December 10th

No winner last week despite 3 players making it through to the last leg.

We start with a Win Fund of £184,122 and the Bonus Fund stands at £32,357.

This weeks action is from Cheltenham, Doncaster and Lingfield with the feature race being the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at 1.50.

Selections:

Leg 1: Blakemount 7/1 Skybet

A 3m chase to get the ball rolling this week and a nice competitive handicap it is too. Last years winner Sego Success carries top weight for Alan King but is 9lbs higher this time around so may find one or two too good. My fancy is for Blakemount who was a creditable second to Apterix last time who has gone on to win again.

Leg 2: Vaniteux 5/2 Bet365

A cracking two mile chase here and Vaniteux attempts to defy the handicapper off a mark of 154. He's quite capable as he's top class on his day and was a fair 3rd on his seasonal debut last month. Paul Moloney keeps the ride which is interesting and i take him to come in front of Parsnip Pete.

Leg 3: Delgany Demon 15/2 Betfair

Our only visit to Lingfield and we have a 3m chase with 13 runners lining up. Its a wide open contest and a narrow vote is given to Delgany Demon who was a fair second over C/D last time out and is on a decent mark at the moment. Wiesentraum would be interesting if anywhere near back to his old form and Cloudy Copper is a danger if he gets his jumping sorted out.

Leg 4: Kylemore Lough 10/1 BetVictor

The big betting race of the day, the Caspian Gold Cup. Top weight Village Vic won this last year of 136 and now lines up on 158 which is quite remarkable. He is still well fancied which goes to show how well handicapped he was back then. Kylemore Lough looks a very promising horse and he may be the one to take out of the race this season.

Leg 5: Old Guard 7/1 Coral

Grade 2 action here with the International Hurdle and although we have a small field it's a pretty good renewal and sees the old rivals My Tent Or Yours and The New One renew their rivalry. Both horses seem to be past their best to be honest so it may be worth taking a chance with Old Guard on this occasion. He likes small fields and has shown top class form before when taking this 12 months ago.

Leg 6: Jessber's Dream 8/1 William Hill

The final leg is a Mares Handicap and a decent turnout of 15 runners. Briery Queen makes her seasonal debut and will be a popular choice after winning the EBF Final last year. Midnight Tour is an up and coming mare from the Alan King yard who needs to go on the shortlist and i like Jessber's Dream who didn't stay 3m last time and will be happier back at this trip.
