Racing Chat - Saturday Dec 3rd (Inc Scoop6)

Nobody got further than the Hennessy last week (leg 4) so we have a rollover of £137,705 this Saturday.

The Place dividend paid a whopping £1,104.60 and 20 lucky punters were successful.

This week the action comes from Sandown and Aintree and we have two races over the Grand national fences included so this wont be easy!

Selections:

Leg 1: Ucello Conti 10/1 William Hill

It doesn't get any harder than the first leg this week. We have a maximum field running over the National fences and quite a few of these have been here before including last years winner Highland Lodge. National runner up The Last Samurai carries top weight and i wouldn't put any one off his chances. Gordon Elliott has been mopping up over in Ireland and his runner Ucello Conti looks very interesting to me overall and gets a narrow vote.

Leg 2: Leoncavallo 11/2 Betfair

Just 9 runners line up for this decent prize and no doubting the class horse in the race is Leoncavallo who used to be with John Ferguson and ran on the flat for Godolphin last season. He was a fair 7th in the Greatwood Hurdle and that form could well be good enough here.

Leg 3: Zubayr 6/1 Coral

Our first visit to Sandown and a Listed Hurdle to look at. French import Indietir makes his debut for the Skelton team and i'm sure he will be popular. The Nicholls horse Zubayr came down in the Elite Hurdle but prior to that had some very useful form and i'm prepared to forgive him that blip now dropped in class.

Leg 4: Un De Sceaux 15/8 Paddy Power

The big race of the day is the Tingle Creek Chase and although we only have six runners it looks a terrific race in prospect with the Mullins horse Un De Sceaux taking on Ar Mad, Sire De Grugy and Gods Own. Un De Sceaux will be a very short price but i cant really see him getting beat here and may have most to fear from the up and coming Ar Mad.

Leg 5: Seventh Sky 12/1 Paddy Power

The second race over the National fences and probably a tad less competitive than the other one. Last years winner Bennys Mist lines up again and if in the same mood will be very hard to beat despite being 7lbs worse off. My fancy is for Seventh Sky at the top of he weights. He is a good traveller and has been around here before, he has had a prep run and will be spot on now.

Leg 6: Jimmy The Jetplane 9/1 Paddy Power

The final leg is the London National, a marathon trip that will need a real battler. Loose Chips will no doubt attempt to lead all of the way and he just loves jumping and could get most of these off the bridle by half way. I'm going to take a chance with Jimmy The Jetplane who although still in his novice days is a solid jumper and just gallops, he may just find this to his liking.
