Unsuspected Girl has been largely frustrating but she looks an incredibly talented filly. She has to come from the rear and has often found trouble in running but she clearly has plenty of room in her handicap mark given her latest running over CD having been held up. This trip may be her limit to as short as she wants to go having won over 4f further around here previously but she still looks progressive and unexposed from a handicapping point of view.

It has surprised me that Boomerang Bob wasn’t put away for the summer and brought out again for a winter campaign having gone well at the start of the year winning a claimer at Southwell before then winning a handicap at Lingfield both over 6f. He has now dropped back to 2lb below that last winning mark, also went very close off 6lb higher mark than todays again at Lingfield and very well in a listed event. Clearly likes Lingfield but has ran well here in June again off a 6lb higher mark. Has more than held his own in hot handicaps at Sandown and Ascot, latest suggest he is coming back to hand and return back to the polytrack could be key.

There is potentially no shortage of pace in this race which could suit Panther Patrol although has previously made all he likes to track a strong pace. Winner over 6f at Lingfield  so polytrack no concern. Perhaps has more to offer stepping up to 7f today and is running off last winning mark. Nicely drawn in stall 3 with a capable apprentice taking off a handy 5lb. Has been keeping on well over 6f to suggest not only in form but will see out and flourish from the step up in trip.
