Jezza
Date / Time: 2005-06-17 17:10:00 Title: Kirill Gerasimov Makes an Amazing Call Log: Kirill Gerasimov was heads up with an unknown player at table 146. Both players had approximately even stacks of $7500, with Gerasimov having a slight edge. The board was Ah-Kh-Jx-X-X with about $2000 in the pot. Gerasimov checked and mistakenly heard the unknown player say "check," causing Gerasimov to prematurely flip over his missed flush draw of 10h-6h. The unknown player announced that he never said "check," the floor was called over, and the ruling was that the unknown player should have had an opportunity to act. The unkown player moved all in, and unbelievably Gerasimov called with 10 high. The unknown player says good call, flips over his 7-2 and Kirill Gerasimov wins the table. Look for the video interview with Kirill Gerasimov on CardPlayer.com soon :clap :clap :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek I can see the logic, if the other guy had 10 hi beat he would have just checked...but still what a fcuking call! If he had the winning hand, he'd have nothing to lose by betting, so he may as well go all-in, just on the off-chance ...
Jezza
Re: Woah Thats a very good point slapdash, but if that was the case he probably would not have gone all in, but made a tiny bet instead.
slapdash
Re: Woah Yes. I'm not sure how much he should bet, but clearly he should bet something. Probably depends on your opinion of your opponent. If you think he's "imaginative" enough to call an all-in bet, then you should go all-in.
