BillyHills
Tote Scoop6 No winner last week so the Win Fund starts at £234,945 and the Bonus Fund has reached £64,797. 67 punters landed the Place Dividend last week which paid over £320.00 This weeks action comes from Newmarket, Ascot and Redcar. The feature race is the 7f Heritage Handicap at 3.40 which is worth over £100,000. Leg 1: David's Duchess 6/1 Bet365 Wide open Fillies handicap over 6f to get the ball rolling and the likely favourite is one of the four last-time out winners Sweet Dragon Fly. She won at Lingfield in a tongue tie and could have more to offer. Stellarta won well at Windsor but is 11lb higher so the danger could be David's Duchess who was drawn on the wrong side last time at Ascot. Leg 2: Crowning Glory 7/1 BetVictor Another Fillies handicap but this time over a mile and the one that sticks out is Crowning Glory who is chasing a hat-trick after victories at Epsom and Sandown. Trainer Ralph Beckett is in good nick at present and Fran Berry takes the ride. Carenot from the bottom of the weights looks dangerous and she wears blinkers for the first time too. Leg 3: The Wagon Wheel 11/1 Bet365 The big race of the season for Redcar, a maximum field of 2yo's contest this valuable race over 6f and we have wide open affair this year. Quite often something gets in these races off a light weight and it can be a bit one-sided. 5 of the last 6 winners have been in single figure prices! Anyway the Jim Crowley mount Mazyoun will be popular and any of the Fahey horses need watching, my preference is for The Wagon Wheel from a low draw. Leg 4: Malmoosa 10/1 Betfair Back to Newmarket for our 4th leg and third Fillies handicap. Malmoosa finally got her head in front last time at Lingfield and she may be able to build on that now for trainer Brian Meehan, Others to consider are the hat-track seeking High Hopes and the Mark Johnston runner Dessertoflife. Leg 5: Remarkable 10/1 Skybet 18 runners line up for big betting handicap of the weekend at Ascot and we have a clear favourite in Librisa Breeze. Has ran two cracking races over this track and was a decent 4th in a Group race last time. Richard Fahey saddles 3 runners including Ayr Gold Cup second Growl while the John Gosden runner Remarkable makes plenty of appeal coming back after a break. Leg 6: Double Up 7/2 Coral The final leg is 5f sprint and Group 1 winner Sole Power is the star of the show. Not as good as he once was but sure to go well in this class. Double Up will be fancied to improve on his 3rd last time out while last time out winners Kimberella and Priceless will be thereabouts once again. BillyHills
2.55 Fontwell Zarib 9/2 Coral Dan Skelton must have a bit disappointed by Zarib last season who only managed a couple of placed efforts in 5 starts. He had shown a lot of promise as a novice and i reckon he can get off to a good start this time round now he has had his sights lowered a little. This a weak race for the grade and has most to fear from Forever Field. 3.05 Ascot Dont Touch EW 15/2 Betway The favourite Shalaa will take all the beating here if 100% fit but he hasnt raced for a year so i think the value lies with Dont Touch. He ran his first ever poor race last time out but that was in a Group 1 contest and he should bounce back here in company more to his liking. At around 7/1 he looks terrific value and a bet to nothing each way just in case the jolly under performs. 3.50 Redcar Sovereign Debt 4/1 Bet365 Dandy Nicholls deserves a victory with Sovereign Debt and is well weighted here under the conditions and should gain revenge on Gordon Lord Byron from last time out. Chris Hayes comes over to ride which is a big plus and you will do well to find a horse as consistent as him. Convey and Certificate from the Stoute yard have a chance in a cracking race for the course.
