BillyHills
Tote Scoop6 No winner last week so the Win Fund kicks off at £170.013 and the Bonus Fund is creeping up and now stands at £46,794. No one could get past the 4th leg although most of the damage was done on leg 2 when Mistiroc won at Ascot. Last week 79 punters landed the Place Fund which paid £264.30 This weeks action come from Newmarket, Ripon and Newbury and the feature race is the Great St Wilfrid Handicap which is the last leg this week. Selections: Leg 1: 2.15 NM : Somebody To Love Only 9 runners in this Fillies Nursery but it's wide open all the same. Top weight Somebody To Love looks to have a decent chance now her sights have been lowered. Last time out was only beaten 4 1/2 lengths by Roly Poly here over 6f and that is not bad form at all. Leg 2: 2.45 NM: Andar The annual race for Grey horses and 11 turn up this year. The 3yo Andar could be the one if he gets on with the first time blinkers. Trainer Clive Cox is in tremendous form and this colt has yet to run a bad race this season. Not badly handicapped and should put up another bold show. Leg 3: 3.20 NM: Udontdodou 7/1 William Hill 3yo sprint and a very competitive looking heat. Top weight Projection will be popular after a rather unlucky run in the Stewards Cup Consolation race. He was caught up in traffic and finished best of all to take 5th and remains of interest here. I like Udontdodou who was very impressive early on this season but was down the filed last time in better company, he can bounce back after a break. Leg 4: 3.25 RP: See The Sun 16/1 William Hill The Consolation for the Great St Wilfrid here with 20 runners and a right old puzzle. Tim Easterby does well at Ripon so i'm going to side with his See The Sun. He does throw the odd shocked in now and again and did so last time at York. Hopefully he won't do it twice on the trot and on his best form has a squeak here. leg 5: 3.40 NB Von Blucher 6/1 William Hill It doesn't get any easier and a 7f handicap at Newbury is next on the list. The old boy Pastoral Player has won here before and has been going well lately so could be involved, he's a tad inconsistent so the Gosden 3yo Von Blucher is preferred on this occasion. Dettori rides and the horse is dropped back in trip after some fair efforts this season. Leg 6: 3.55 RP: Pipers Note 18/1 Betfred The big betting race of the day, the Great St Wilfrid. Trainers Richard Fahey and David O'Meara have shared this prize for the last 5 seasons so they have to be respected . Louis The Pious is the O'Meara runner i like while Fahey could go close with Nuno Tristan. Overall i'm taking a chance with Pipers Note who knows how to win here at Ripon and the trainer Roger Whittaker has taken this race before. The horse has dropped to a nice mark and i expect a big run here.
