2.40 Newton Abbot

Invocation 6/4 Bet365

Jump racing returns after a brief break and the best bet on the Newton Abbot card looks to be Invocation in the juvenile hurdle. Trained by Alan King the 3yo has had two efforts over timber so far and showed improved form last time out and should be able to beat Recognition on these terms. The Henderson horse won at Market Rasen on his debut but now carries a penalty and was not as highly rated on the flat as the selection so has a stiff task to follow up.

2.20 Salisbury

Beck And Call 2/1 Betfair

Interesting maiden at Salisbury and trainer Henry Candy has won this for the last two years including in 2014 with Twilight Son. His Beck And Call comes here after a very good debut at Newbury where he was 3rd ti Tiburtina. He travelled well that day and lack of experience found him out but was not given a hard time by jockey Fergus Sweeney. He will be spot on here and must be thereabouts in this company.
